It's good place ,clean and comfortable. Hot water available and also A.C is good. Different breakfast menu for every day 😋 Also they give for use a yummy welcome drink 🍸 We was fasting and we didn't take our breakfast, the owner give us a discount when we take our lunch It also near to the beach and alot of resturant around the hotel .

We had a lovely stay at African Bungalows in Nungwi! The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and it was great to see the owner around, always making sure everything was just right. The breakfast was excellent—fresh, delicious, and with something new to enjoy every day. The serene atmosphere made it feel like an oasis in the middle of Nungwi, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We really liked the hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. Everything was in place and worked perfectly – air conditioning, water, and Wi-Fi.The staff was really helpful - you can see that they care. The food in the restaurant was tasty, with portions just right. The beach is wide and clean – perfect for walks and relaxing. The area is quiet, ideal for unwinding. It was amazing. I had a sea view room and enjoyed the sunset from there every night. It is an accommodation where you can stay all day. You can walk down the stairs barefoot and go for a swim in the warm ocean. The sea is literally in front of the accommodation. If it gets too warm, you can enjoy the calm huge pool in the garden, where there lives a small super cute monkey and a dozen mini antelopes (Dik Dik). It was like a dream for me. The restaurant at the accommodation is open all day long and serves fantastic food. The personnel was exceptionally nice and friendly, very professional and welcoming. The location is also very good, everything like ATM, market, restaurants are super close, and as said the beach is at the doorstep. For me, it can't get any better and I would definitely come back. Asante sana.

Nungwi dreams is absolute paradise. It is situated right on the beach, which is not very busy. You do have to be mindful about swimming because of the tide and the sea urchins/rocks. The hotel provides complimentary use of sea shoes, which was great. There are two pools, which are both excellent and very clean. The views from the hotel are absolutely spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay a memorable one. The food was good and was overall similarly priced to other place in the area. We had a massage which was relaxing and reasonably priced. The tours organised by the hotel were also fantastic. During our stay we went to Stone Town, Prison Island, on a Spice Tour and kayaking on Kendwa beach.

An outstanding Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar. It is located in a privileged location, and has direct acces to 2 diferent beaches. The rooms are enormous, with private pool, and cozy decoration. The staff here is very friendly and always greet you with a smile. The 3 pools are great, so is the restaurant area. A couple things to mention: it is far away from major tourist spots (which is good for me) bit has the Mnemba atoll right in front which is a plus. The only negative (just a little detail) is that food could improve in quality. Breakfast is awesome, so as the easy snacks you can order all day. But dinner food was a little bit under the overall quality of the Hotel. 9.5/10 would highly recommend.

When talking about the greatness of Kilindi, we could talk about the amazing villa, the exquisite food, the privacy, the incredible private beach with turquoise water and plenty of activities to do, or the attention to detail. But what made our experience a 10 out of 10 was the excellent attention from our villa host Salum. Salum made sure that we were comfortable at every moment, that every detail was as expected and that we weren't missing a drink or snack for a second. He also took such good care of my wife's severe allergy to nuts, double checking every meal with the chef. He made us feel so welcome and taken care of and made the difference in this beautiful resort. Would 100% recommend.

We spent our honeymoon I this hotel and everything was outstanding. Clean rooms and facilities, very friendly staff who are adaptive and flexible to meet all your needs. Food was great, option to eat at the beach. The place offered various activities during the day/evening so you can't get bored. Tried the SPA (couple program) which was good value for money. Also booked the romantic dinner on tthe beach, which was outstanding. Staff was very helpful with organising it

Enjoyed every moment of my stay. The rooms were huge, airy, clean and the view was beautiful. The jetty was the favorite party of my stay… the food was tasty again with the most breathtaking view. As SA travellers the people on the beach can be a bit much - but again you are interacting with other cultural - which is wonderful. Became friend with Daniel a Messai and will keep touch. The Zanzibar are warm honest people. I loved the Jumbo while walking along the beach

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to...

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

Generally, a lovely and intimate establishment with staff that care for your personal needs. The manager is so friendly and always wants to know how the guests are doing. The most beautiful sunrises. The performances add to the spice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The vibes are great — everything you need is nearby, including shops, restaurants, and tour offices. Restaurants on the beach tend to be a bit pricey, but if you take a short walk into the side streets, you’ll find places offering the same quality food at much more reasonable prices. What I didn’t like were the beach boys — they’re nice and friendly, but can be a bit annoying as they keep trying to sell things. They’re not too pushy, but it’s hard to relax when someone approaches you every couple of minutes. The only time you can truly enjoy some peace is early in the morning. Important note : you have to strongly negotiate the prices and people are very nice and easy going Try to learn few words from their language they will be super happy :)

Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean waters and minimal tides, Kendwa is the best place in Zanzibar. The beach is the most spacious and greatest on the island and the village provides all the necessities you would need. With many tours and water activities offered on the beach you would hardly need to move anywhere else. It is also a walkable distance to Nungwi during low tide if anyone is interested in a more bustily environment.

During the day, low tide pulls the water far from the shore, so swimming may not always be possible. If you walk toward the reef, expect to be approached frequently by local beach vendors, which can feel intrusive — especially when you're clearly not carrying money. Local security presence is minimal, so don't expect much intervention in these situations. It's best to come prepared and manage your expectations if you're looking for a peaceful swim.

Many restaurants and beach bars , next to Badolina Bungalows . Good prices and good food at Baraka restaurant and Nanasi restaurant. And , also , at Zava restaurant. For excursions I recommend Yussufu , very nice guy and good prices .

The snorkeling was a true adventure, with well-protected marine life and crystal-clear water. Spotting the dolphins was an unexpected bonus! Visiting the sea turtle rehabilitation center and feeding them was a special experience.
