We were so touched by their kindness and hospitality. I miss this home stay so much already! It’s probably best if you have a car to get here and enjoy some of the sights around the area. However, the host was able to arrange us to have a driver in a shared van. She arranged dinners and transportation both evenings! Everyone was so generous and kind. ❤️ The host offered us tea at every chance she got. She shared her Tsou culture and language. Her neighbours all have tea or coffee for sale. Make sure to ask about it! The host also gave us frank advice about the various attractions nearby. I think we would have done better to listen to her. This was the best sleep I got on the trip. That is a very firm bed. No AC, just a fresh breeze. I slept a solid 11 hrs and fully recovered from jet lag. Absolute highlight of our trip to Taiwan. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The room was nice, it was a good location, and the owner was very friendly - he was very helpful with giving me lifts to and from the accommodation e.g. to 7/11, hike trails and the bus for alishan.

The hotel is exactly as shown in the pictures, superbly located on the Old Street and just 1 minute walk from the bus stop (via a steep road). All the top walking trails are closeby, and even the fireflies area can be reached in less than 10 minutes late in the evening. The front desk staff all speak English and are cheerful and helpful. This hotel is famous for its bento box and dining area, and day-trippers flock here to eat lunch and take pictures. The room itself was large, warm and comfortable in the middle of winter, with a nice view over the rooftops even from my ground floor room (see my picture). It had a dehumidifier and I did not feel/smell any of the dampness that is common in this area. The bathroom was a little dated, but in full working condition and spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure and drainage. The floor dried up pretty quickly, due to the dehumidifier. I don't think there is a better place to stay in Fenchihu and I would love to come back and visit.

We loved everything. If I could give it 100 stars I would. Imagine waking up to a beautiful sunrise, and heading out to dig into an amazing spread of food made from their own farm, and once you're full to head aside and have tea with the owner. It's perfect.

We had an absolutely outstanding stay here. The place is unreal in its beauty, nestled in the middle of the Alishan mountains surrounded by superb trails. Mornings are filled with watching some of the most beautiful sunrises from the own observation deck. At night you can enjoy the best hot pot I have ever had (being vegetarian or vegan). Whole hearted recommendation. Great location to explore the region.

Fantastic service from the host who was very welcoming and made us feel very taken care of during our stay. From picking us up from town, preparing us a home cooked dinner (small fee), and driving us to Alishan for sunrise for a very reasonable charge. The rooms were spacious and had great views of the tea fields, and were clean and quiet. It was a wonderful place to stay for a night and was the highlight accommodation of the entire trip.
