Göreme is a busy town but Coco Cave is a peaceful place to stay. Go walking in the valleys to have adventures where you will have more peace. We walked Love Valley, White Valley and Pigeon Valley on day and Red and Rose Valleys another day. We also walked Zena valley. All were beautiful with astonishing scenery. Highly recommend getting up early to watch the balloons. Food is expensive and generally not great in the town. Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday. It is a lovely small town next to Goreme (famous for the hot air balloon rides and pointed rock structures) so its a short ride away with none of the hustle and bustle of a touristy town. It has many local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, to eat at without breaking the bank. There is a promenade with on the river with jungle gyms and play areas for little kids. Beautiful and quiet place. Less busy and less expensive than Georme. Locations near Uçhisar castle is very lively but rule is same. closer your stay to main hub costly and busier it gets.
