Very good breakfasts and dinners served at the table. The staff asked if we wanted extra portions. Additional dishes available on the buffet during breakfasts. Free activities are available on site, such as a walk around the area, swimming in the river and feeding Wendy - the elephant, as well as an additional paid massage, kayaking, boat trip, etc. A very good place to relax from the hustle and bustle. There is no electricity, except for a place to top up phones, and that's an additional charm of this place. If you want to pack or find something in your luggage, do it during the day because there is little light after dark.

Everything was amazing! From the cleanliness to the comfort, amenities, breakfast (order the stir-fried shrimp with basil + egg + jasmine rice!!! Stole the show for me), it was high quality. However, nothing could beat the top-notch service we got from Nok and her husband! She makes herself accessible via whatsapp, constantly going beyond for our queries, very proactive too! It is no problem that Nok’s husband speaks little english because the level of care he gives needed no translation. He’d drive us to our destinations, take the initiative to show us stops at scenic places and take great pictures. My daughter always has bad reaction to insect bites. He medicated her bitten wrists, massaged her wrists (has experience in herbal medicine according to Nok iirc) and constantly checked on her. Even got her medication during our check out. They not only served us well during our stay, they also restored our hope for humanity.

The stay was very special and we were so happy we chose it over the floating houses nearby. The tent was comfortable, cosy and spacious. The hanging hammock net with a view of the river was spectacular, perfect for watching the river at sunrise and for stargazing. The bathroom and all the amenities exceeded our expectations. The shared terrace/dining area was a great spot to hang out and enjoy delicious, fresh local food. The staff was helpful and with help of Google Translate, we were able to communicate well. We wish we had more time to enjoy there!

Sai Yok is great for people wanting to visit beautiful natural wonders and the terrible death railway of WW11. However, information is often incorrect and wrong most locals have no English. I researched extensively and even that was not enough most websites offer information that is ab solutely wrong and only their own experience NOT FACTS, enjoy.

Sai Yok is a big place which encompasses National Parks, reservoirs and dams as well as forests, mountains, animal sanctuaries, rivers and even a World War 2 death railway. You can choose to drive up in a personal car, as I did, about 3 hours from Bangkok but on a very scenic route, or you can take the train. Once there you can travel on the famed river Kwai if you want to and see all of the natural beauty and wildlife that abounds. I only went for 3 days this time but it is about my 12th visit as I live in Bangkok, and I always find that there is something different to do, just be aware of the rainy season which can curtail anyone's day.

I travelled to Sai Yok by car, so was able to explore the area easily. I didn't book any organised trips. Sai Yok National Park was worth the Foreigner price - the waterfalls were easily accessible, and if I was younger and fitter I would have been able to spend a long time wandering about. I refused to pay the foreigner price for Lawa Cave, as did the Western family with four children who arrived at the same time. I did not feel that the experience would be worth it, and for the family it would have been extremely expensive. Thin Lin Hot Springs, however, charges the same price for everyone. Affordable for Thai people and an absolute bargain for Westerners. The pools are tiled, so do not look natural, but it is very clean and a beautiful place. There is a roped off area in the nearby river, so it is possible to swim and paddle safely without fear of being swept away. The current is very strong. The area is very beautiful and quite unspoilt. I recommend it for those wanting a peaceful, back to nature type of holiday.
