FAQs about hotels on Koh Samui
Palm Trees and Pristine Seas
One of Thailand’s most famous islands, Koh Samui (or Ko Samui) is a tropical paradise whose palm trees emerge from the pristine white sands at unbelievable angles, and whose offshore reefs make for great diving.
The most developed resort is Chaweng, though most bars and clubs are set back from the beautiful beach, so the views are still wonderful. Slightly less lively is Lamai, though its beach is no less impressive. Both of these resorts are home to a large number of Koh Samui hotels with private pools, a popular requirement of many visitors, despite the wonderfully warm waters.
Lipa Noi in the west faces Thailand’s east coast and has some beautiful sunsets, while the northern fishing village of Bo Phut is gaining in popularity. Nearby Mae Nam and Cheong Mon both have sweeping beaches that gently shelve into the sea, making them popular family choices.
Travellers don't go tot Koh Samui for its sights – but interesting attractions include the Big Buddha at Bangrak’s Wat Phra Yai temple, and the Wat Khunaram Ko Samui temple inland from Hua Thanon.
As well as a great range of apartments, resorts and villas, Booking.com also has Koh Samui hotel deals to help you get the most for your money on this beautiful island.

- From US$152.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 293 reviewsThe VIEW was just spectacular. We spent many hours just out on the balcony of our room admiring the view. We were originally assigned a room on the lowest level which had access to the courtyard. This room felt less private and didn’t have ‘the view’. The staff at the front desk happily upgraded us for an extra charge to a room on the 3rd level and it was worth every baht. The ‘included’ breakfast was incredible. You can choose from the menu from many different options like eggs Benedict, eggs and avocado on toast, or Turkish eggs. You can also order barista made coffee which was very good. The buffet is also included which had an awesome selection of breads, pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, fresh vegetables etc. They had a rotating selection of little desserts including mini mango and sticky rice dishes. The shuttle was easy to book and very useful. They would drop us off at the 7-eleven and sometimes even wait for us to do our shopping :) Grab/bolt and Grab food was available to use from Code Samui.Guest review byDelaneyNew Zealand
- From US$173.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,629 reviewsThe property and facilities were amazing! We had our own little detached villa and it felt like a home away from home! The place was spotless and well maintained. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff. Once checked in we were whisked from reception to our villa on a golf cart! The villas were well spaced out and never felt like we were on top of another. We were a couple minutes from everything; reception, pool, beach, breakfast. The food and drinks were well priced for a hotel too! The pad krapow from the pool bar menu was great! The views you get from the pool bar is just stunning too! We are already looking to come back and stay for longer next time! Would highly recommend this to anyone!Guest review byJackUnited Kingdom

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to every need, making our experience even more enjoyable. The views were absolutely stunning, and the resort offered plenty of spots to relax and unwind. Booking spa treatments, making reservations, and accessing facilities was effortless through the app. Breakfast: A fantastic selection of healthy options! The chef was flexible and happy to customize dishes to our preferences, with plenty of gluten- and dairy-free choices available. We truly appreciate the Six Senses philosophy and will definitely be exploring more of their hotels in the future!Guest review byDovileLithuania

The staff was incredibly kind and professional, the music was great, the food was delicious, the location was amazing, and everything was spotlessly clean. Everything was simply perfect – we couldn't have asked for more. A special thanks to Rein, the fitness instructor, who gave us a wonderful and energizing experience. I love it here . Has everything and anything. For me I like the beach , the restaurants, the markets and am happy to do that all day at one of the beach front bungalows. But there is plenty of night life if you want it . A lively place, lovely locals, easy to go other places on the island with taxis . The beach is beautiful. Warm water . Food and drinks along the beach .lots to see and do in the town. So many restaurants to choose from . Capybara cafe is so funny had a great time there . The night markets are greatGuest review bydeniseNew Zealand - 8.0

Love Silver Beach, garden was glorious at Promsuk Suri, but staff rather miserable, no customer care. Couldn’t even offer us a clean towel when changing prior to our flight we had to use a wet sandy towel from the beach!! I guess we were lucky that we had a shower we could use as we had already checked out and had a late flight.Guest review byPrudenceAustralia - 10.0

The Fisherman's Village was fantastic. No car or scooter access at night made for lovely walks along the street, seeing the markets and bars and restaurants in relative peace. Plus none of the typical sleazy Thai bars/clubs.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 10.0

Beautiful smallish beach Nice to Walk to the end and to the cape fahn on separate private island - we went in the water was pretty clean little murky but probably was just the day and the fact that there are so many hotels on the islandGuest review bydeborahItaly - 10.0
This is a great tourist destination.
This is a great tourist destination. Glad we went during the low-season as it made for small, tolerable crowds. Plenty of activities and sights to do and see - we only brushed the surface with our short time there. Go for at least one week. Two would be better. The surrounding Gulf of Thailand offered lake-like calm, turquoise waters. Views everywhere are stunning. We Weill have to return again in the future. Highly recommend, especially the low-season.Guest review byLorentzUnited States - 10.0

There are only two bungalows facing the beach and they are AMAZING!! We did not want to leave our hotel. Some of the other rooms looked nice too but faced the garden walkway. One bungalow faced a concrete wall. You get what you pay for. Loved this place so much.Guest review bynhan - 8.0

Very friendly people and going to a night market is a great experience! Traveling across the island is easy but it may get a bit costly if you have to take a van for 6 or 8 people. Beaches on the east side are nice but busy. Beaches on the west are less crowded but may get narrow and untidy due to the tides. Overall we were missing the very long beaches with plenty of palm trees and powder-soft sand. Worth a visit are higher areas of the island in middle, e.g. Dee's Chilling Hill restaurant. Also going to the Ang Thong Marine park is very nice.Guest review byHans ErichGermany - 10.0
Chaweng Noi Beach was one of my favorite spots on Koh Samui.
Chaweng Noi Beach was one of my favorite spots on Koh Samui. It’s incredibly beautiful — soft white sand, calm turquoise water, and a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a little escape from the busier parts of the island. I loved how quiet and relaxed it was, perfect for swimming or just lying under the sun. The view with the green hills around was stunning. That said, it’s not the best during low tide — the rocks and coral can make it tricky to get in the water. Also, there’s not much going on nearby in terms of shops or nightlife, and some areas can get a bit pricey because of the luxury resorts. Still, for a calm beach day with amazing views, I’d go back in a heartbeat.Guest review byAlex PKazakhstan - 10.0
Loved our room! It was very spacious, clean & comfortable.
Loved our room! It was very spacious, clean & comfortable. The bed and pillows met our expectations. The pool was huge! Great for children or grown ups. A very ambient, quiet resort set on the beach front. The beach chairs are very comfortable and the best place to chill with a book or take in the amazing views. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is very peaceful and we ordered a taxi or grab to go to dinner in the evening. We had drinks at the Hotel pub one evening. Overall a great stay & value for the rates. The breakfast was sufficient …eggs and fresh fruit/toast/pastries. Handy if you have a motor bike to get around the Island as grab is expensive. .Guest review byAnonymous
