Yangyai Garden Lodge is an absolute ripper of a spot in Koh Phangan! The rooms are top-notch – clean, comfy, and surrounded by lush greenery, making it a beaut place to kick back and relax. It’s a proper oasis, just far enough from the party chaos but close enough if you’re keen for a night out. Ping, the host, is a bloody legend. He’ll go above and beyond to make sure you’re looked after, whether it’s sorting your transport or sharing local tips. If you’re after a chilled, welcoming vibe with awesome hospitality, this is the place to stay. Can’t recommend it enough! Also the host has travelled a lot and has excellent English, meaning he can and will happily explain complex details and interesting facets of thai culture. All of his recommendations were excellent. The staff here are super friendly and always happy to help with anything! They really went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay, teaching me a bit of the local language, booking taxis, and checking in to see if I was doing okay. I honestly felt really well looked after. The place itself is adorable, and the rooms are spotless and cosy. They even top up water and tissues every day, which is such a nice touch.💕

We had an awesome stay at Vannee Golden Sands and can highly recommend this resort. The staff was extremely helpful, and responsive to queries I had prior to the trip. The staff also went out of their way to make our friend's birthday a very special and memorable celebration. The pool and swim-up-bar was fantastic as well (can recommend the pina colada cocktails). The breakfast offered a wide variety of sweet and savoury items, which was great and fresh. I enjoyed the spa and sauna facilities.

It was an amazing hotel and I loved the whole environment, placed within the palm trees and other beautiful nature. I even saw a tiny snake and some squirrels! My bungalow was amazing, it was clean, looked renovated and had a functioning AC. I also really liked my hammock outside where I laid when it rained for a bit. I loved that the beach was close by and you could reach boutiques, 7 eleven etc just outside the hotel. Can only recommend this place and will def come back here when I’m back on the island.

beautiful views, lovely staff, a great selection on the food menu there was a lovely man who served us who doesn’t stop smiling we love him. and teddy at the front desk was lovely and very helpful too one of the best places we stayed at in Thailand. All of the staff are so hard working and nice even the gardeners who keep the greenery up to scratch were lovely and showed us where to go. our room was huge too and we reccomend to everyone we know.

The breakfast was amazing. The room was absolutely gorgeous. The staff here went above and beyond and are honestly amazing at their jobs. We had an issue being charged twice, they were very efficient sorted it straight away for us and didn't want to cause any problems for us. I had a massage at this hotel and it was the best in Thailand. Would definitely recommend visiting the spa. The restaurant is also exceptional with good quality food.

Private villa with our own pool that was cooling also when the infinity pool and sea were too hot. Beautiful and well-kept garden. This area sometimes has too low seawater level due to tide but in front of our hotel it was always possible to go into water. Very nice staff! As we stayed 2 weeks we got to see fireworks 3times.

Haad Rin is a beautiful beach with plenty of bars and...

Haad Rin is a beautiful beach with plenty of bars and restaurants lining the shore and lots of shops, restaurants around the strip. During Full Moon week, the atmosphere gets wild—every venue competes with fire shows and loud music, creating a chaotic but energetic vibe. I imagine the off-season must be much more relaxing, though I haven’t experienced it myself. Personally, I found the Full Moon Party a bit disappointing, though that might be due to my expectations. I'm 40+, and I was hoping for a more organized event with better music and a diverse crowd—people of all ages from different parts of the world. Instead, it felt more like a chaotic gathering of mostly very young partygoers (early 20s), primarily from England, Germany, and Denmark, whose main focus seemed to be drinking and drugs. In November 2025, the original party was canceled due to the passing of the King’s mother, so I can’t speak to the usual experience.

I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location.

I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location. There are much nicer locations on the island to stay, however if you are like me, and like to explore, then this location is best as its in the middle of the coast line, and its close to central heart road ways that take you to any part of the island quickly.

The night life - bars, cafés, markets, and I enjoyed getting a massage after all the walking around. There are many massage parlors and massages are so affordable here. Also, the service at the massage parlors is very good.

Amazing place on the island.

Amazing place on the island. Lots of cafe's, restaurants and more. Nothing is too far really, jump on the bike and go 15min to another spot, be very careful in the corners when riding your bike......lots of people get a "Koh Phangan" tattoo there meaning they crash and the scars. Sand in corners means, slow down!!! I recommend Papaya Massage for great Thai and oil massage. Enjoy a great beautiful Phangan.

I was in haad rin beach, it pretty much is a village. A nice one, but no sidewalks, everything is cheap, a bit dirty. Compared to Phuket it really is a small village. But the full moon party was amazing, so much fun! So it definitely was worth it!

Lovely area on Koh Phangan. Many local and also westernised food places (Ann's and Shish Kebab were our favourites!), shops and of course pristine beaches. Worth hiring a scooter to explore around and enjoy the island vibes.

Great location , lovely village great restaurants, not over crowded , family friendly. We ate in many local restaurants , the food was superb and very reasonably . Good variety of shops and supermarkets , we didn't travel outside the resort as didn't need to but plenty of taxis if needed

It feels mostly private and is surrounded by resorts. The beach is beautiful, shallow waters, a nearby reef, plenty of fish to spot while swimming or snorkeling. It completely changes from low tide (early morning) through high tide (from 11 to 5pm). During high tide, there’s not much sand left, but the resort’s sunbeds are perfectly positioned for relaxing just in front of the beach. Nice sunset views too (not directly but close)

My Wife Georgie & I just finished our wonderful 7 day stay at Kupu Kupu villas, I can honestly say hand on heart that was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had (and we have stayed at a lot of nice places) The setting is beautiful, tranquil and absolutely perfect for relaxing. Positioned perfectly with a semi private beach & shallow waters which are serene & very warm. The rooms & amenities are all fantastic, incredibly clean, spacious and beautifully designed. The food was exceptional as was the service all round. And the staff were all incredibly friendly and went out of there way to look after us across the week. We would like to give special mention to San, Bank and especially Admin who was absolutely incredible with us all week, we felt incredibly well looked after and were made to feel the personal touch of spectacular service. One of the most special aspects of the hotel is it feels so incredibly private, every villa was booked up whilst we were there, but the pool and sun loungers were never overused which created a very private & relaxing setting. We will 100% be coming back to stay here, I have already recommended to multiple friends! Thank you

Location - it was like a dream.

Location - it was like a dream. And they had a broom right outside our door so when the inevitable sand was tracked into our room, we could clean it up. We never ate in the restaurant so I can't say how it was, but the other options nearby were excellent. If you're staying longer than 3 nights and want to see more than just the hotel and its surroundings, you'll want to rent a scooter.
