Aksara is in a great location to explore Chiang Mai. Even though it is in the middle of town, it has a lovely relaxed and quiet ambiance.. the monks chanting from the temple next door are an added bonus. The staff are wonderful, welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast is varied with plenty of options both continental and local. The rooms are gorgeous with a great shower, and the pool is nice and refreshing after a long day of exploring. Definitely recommend, we were sad to leave!

The staff were so sweet, kind, caring and helpful. I fell on a motorbike and one staff called.for help and then also cleaned my wounds. She brought me ice and offered to keep helping at any time. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to celebrate the festival with guests by preparing a flower Kratong for each room, allowing everyone to enjoy the festivities together. The breakfast was excellent, with a different menu each day. Complimentary water and snacks were readily available in the hotel. The hotel had a low occupancy, making it very quiet. Most importantly, the shower was powerful and temperature of the shower was stable. Overall a very good impression towards the hotel.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel's facilities, including the pool and the beautifully landscaped grounds, were top-notch and well-maintained. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a great variety of flavors to suit different tastes. As a big fan of fruit, I would have appreciated an even wider selection of fresh fruits. A special shout-out goes to both the breakfast and kitchen staff, who were always helpful and prepared a delicious omelet for me every morning. I am also especially grateful to the excellent and attentive receptionist, who kindly accommodated my request to change rooms due to an uncomfortable shower in the initial room. I hope that during my next stay at this hotel, I will have the chance to experience the comforts of the newer building. :-) One of the most delightful surprises was the welcome gift bag filled with various juices, drinks, and treats upon my arrival! It would have been even more special if it had featured local snacks like dried fruits, which are truly delicious in Thailand, instead of international candies. The location near the airport made my stay very convenient, yet the hotel remained quiet and relaxing. Additionally, the complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and back was a wonderful touch. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and worry-free stay in Chiang Mai.

Since this is our second time, we decided to try the smaller studio instead of the 1-BR residence. The size of the studio is perfect - about the size of an average Asian hotel room. It’s simply furnished and comfortable. We loved that it is slightly further away from the hotel side so it’s generally quieter but just a hop from the breakfast and dinner restaurants. The restaurant staff are amazing as usual, especially the ones having to deal with mad hungry crowds at breakfast. The dinner restaurant staff, esp the male team leader who speaks well, was amazing and energetic - helping my husband navigate his allergies and dietary restrictions.

Beautiful design of buildings and room with lots of nice details like a few leaf imprints in the floors, nicely-shaped water bottles etc. A wonderful bathroom with one whole front of folding doors that allow you to stand right in the forest while taking your shower. Pretty planters and quirky pottery items, and even a tree house. Beautiful gardens with a stream, massive trees and flowers everywhere which must be an arduous task to keep at all times. Lovely swimming pool. Very clean throughout, friendly staff and tasty, generous breakfast.

Really lovely blend of city and country side Lots to see and do Very cultural and diverse Lots of great coffee shops, food and sights Very temple heavy! Good luck fitting all 70 in the old city in! Easy enough to walk around or get a grab or songtow (shared taxi bus) 10-15 minutes from the airport Great overnight trip to Pai but the road is very bendy and may cause travel sickness but well worth it Smile organic cooking class is fantastic £20 pp, 3 courses, pick up and drop off. Main night market is hectic. All the same stuff at others, find a quieter spot!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lhong Chiang Dao Glamping in Chiang Mai, and I can confidently say it was one of the most incredible hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the host and staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and comfortable. Every request we made was met with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, which made our stay even more special. The glamping site itself is immaculately maintained, with cleanliness being a top priority. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall 24/7, it truly felt like we were immersed in nature. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle of everyday life and reconnect with the serene beauty of the outdoors. One of the most magical moments was at night—around 11 PM onwards, the sky came alive with countless stars, offering an awe-inspiring view you rarely get to experience in the city. If you’re looking for a solid glamping experience with unparalleled hospitality, breathtaking natural surroundings, and starry skies, Lhong Chiang Dao Glamping is the place to go. Lovely place for spending a relaxed weekend. Watch the sunrise over teh valley, stare into the clear skies and the stars at night. Visit the tribal villages, the fruit orchards (strawberries and oranges) and the flower gardens. Enjoy a tranquil time.

Chom Tong is a small town about 1.5 hour from Chiang Mai. Travellers use it as the base to explore Doi Inthanon. There is a decent choice of F&B establishments, supermarket, cinema, etc. Best explored if you have transport (rental car or taxi service which can be booked by the day)

Mae Chaem is an amazing little village with great air quality, which is a rare thing in Thailand. With lots of greenery and nature trails, you'll never get bored in this place. Food is also cheap and tasty. The people are nice and always smiling. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nature retreat.

The property is far from anything and the road is quite hard...

The property is far from anything and the road is quite hard to get up especially at night as there are no street lights. The view is easily the main attraction though as well as the bathtub. Food was the Moo Kata which was 490 which was about right for 2 people. Breakfast was okay.

I really love the vibe in Chiang Mai.

I really love the vibe in Chiang Mai. Enjoyed Wat Khang Bann the most. I went for CAD lantern festival, it was incredible experience. Mae Tang Elephant park and clinic was a good place, I watched VDO from the doctor who works to help elephants there, this place takes care of elephants really well. You can do Rafting here and visit long neck tribe in Mea Tang. Mae Khan Pong Village is a must place, you should stay for 1 night. Mae Chiang Dao is the best place to stay during winter Nov-Dec. You will see the fog sea and panorama view (recommend to stay with locals) The food was so amazing, I tried Northern food. The best Khao Soi is Lung Prakit Kad Kom (Recommended by local) It’s difference vibe. I love Phuket but when I came to Chiang Mai, I love here even more.

Welcoming little town well worth visiting.

Welcoming little town well worth visiting. The temple and the caves are great but the best thing for me was that I stumbled into a bar up near the cave which is called . . The Cave bar. This place has to be visited if at all possible. Wonderful hostess and a really chilled, funky vibe.

The cool & freezing weather.

The cool & freezing weather. Must stay here for atleast one night if you have a trip to Chiang Mai. Experience the beautiful flower farm and walking distance. You will appreciate the morning fresh air & cool cloudy fog if you dont mind walking to the flower farm nearby within 15min walk . For Muslim, even though it is only one restaurant that offer halal food , but the taste was worth the price. Will repeat next time if i travel to Chiang Mai.
