I'm absolutely amazed that this hotel has such a low average rating because my wife and I absolutely loved our stay. The staff were superb, epitomised by the security officer running down the pitch dark street at 6am in the morning to help find us a taxi so that we didn't miss our early morning bus to Dakar. The restaurant and bar areas are absolutely gorgeous; a wonderful colonial hotel vibe. It was a joy to dine and drink in this hotel. Our room was very nice, the location is perfect and the staff were really great in the restaurant, bar and front desk. This to me was a proper 4-star hotel experience. If I ever return to Saint Louis, I will definitely stay here again. Many thanks 🙏

The location was great, central and just between the administrative and fishermen's islands, staff was super nice and friendly - despite limited use of English, they helped us organise a horse carriage trip, trip to birds national park and they hailed us a taxi very early morning, making sure we paid the local price. On top of that, the receptionist even helped post my postcards to the post office as I was leaving before it was opened again (no mailboxes on the streets!). The room was comfortable and newly refurbished, hotel common areas enjoyable (recommending Ananas Mojito - all drinks are alcohol free tho).

This was such a wonderful accommodation , close to Saint Louis but in a nice quiet village. The children loved it so much with daily walks along the lake . The rooms were well equipped ekth mosquito nets, cot for our baby. The staff were phenomenal! Khalifa, Amandi, Salif and the lovely lady who served us food daily made our stay memorable. Thank you so much! We would definitely return. Our children enjoyed their time in Gandiol and having evening walks in the village and playing with the children was a highlight too. Jerejef!

I had a great stay, this island is much more quiet than the French island. Which makes it more local, and authentic as well. Keur mama Africa is situated in a fishermen community, where real life happens at the front door. Kids playing, women cooking, and little shops which sells bread twice a day. If you want to spend relaxing days, at the rhythms of the sunrise, sea and the beach, then Keur mama Africa is perfect for you. Plus it was really easy to travel to the French island, Ousseynou was so helpful and friendly! He showed me how to take the local taxi, where to eat on the French island and the local spots!

Tastefully decorated room with view of the lake. Very spacious room and bathroom, immaculately clean. Diarra was very helpful and helped to organise a trip to the Djoudji national park, we had a delicious dinner and breakfast made by Diarra and really enjoyed both of them.
