- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsBeautiful location with lots of activities - mini golf, alpaca feeding, walking trails etc. Nice for grown ups, though it is very popular with families. Very good breakfast and the on-site restaurant for dinner was good, but not outstanding for the price. Beautifully stylish interiors and overall a relaxing place to stay. Easy to get there without a car (bus stop to Stockholm Slussen outside) and easy to travel to surrounding towns by bus too.Guest review byFlorenceSweden
- From US$124.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 631 reviewsI travelled from abroad to attend a wedding and had such a wonderful experience at Fågelbrohus. Alma at the front desk was incredibly kind and super helpful, answering all my questions about check-in, arranging the taxi, and more. The restaurant staff were equally warm and welcoming. Truly outstanding service. I would happily recommend it 10/10!Guest review byM.D.Switzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 45 reviewswe had rented a Cottage near the mainhouse. Very quiet, only short walking distance to the restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice walkways on the island and a small beach. Easy to spend a couple of relaxing days. Ferries go to the neighbouring Islands regularly, shopping only possible in Gräddö.Guest review byDirkGermany

Unfortunately i came back completely bitten by fleas or bed bugs, the doctors must define it yet. never in my life i had anything similar. I booked a spa hotel but the spa was completely under construction (till May 2026 at least). We were however charged the full spa price and have no compensation yet - only Barbara, the head of the reception team tried to save the situation with some dinner invitations. No answer from Booking and no answer from the hotel management yet. the rooms were small and not properly cleaned every day. No wardrobes or storage for your clothes. i really expected a much higher level for over 3200 Euros for 2 rooms for a week. Especially - i you do not offer SPA than do not sell a spa resport hotel!Guest review bykrisztinaAustria - 10.0

Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so visiting other islands via ferry is easy. Vaxholm itself is very interesting and worth at least a couple days. If you plan on island hopping (day trips from Vaxholm), then figure an additional day per island. If you don't have time to day trip, then definitely take a boat tour to just get a feel for this gorgeous archipelago. It's stunning.Guest review byDeniseFrance - 8.0

Cute little cottage with perfect amount of space for a family of four to stay for a weekend. Well stocked kitchen, great outdoor space for playing. Big drawback was lack of blackout blinds on the windows so putting kids to bed before the sun went down (which is pretty late in summer) was difficult.Guest review byAubrey - 10.0

We rented the tiny house to get away from the stress that the city life can bring and wanted a place where we and our puppy could recharge and relax. Great host, close to the wate and nature. So If you ever have the time and the opportunity please do visit.Guest review bySalomon - 10.0

Sahdhamn is a beautiful island at the edge of the archipelago, so please note it can get a bit windy since there are very few islands protecting it from the sea. There are trails criss-crossing the island, so it’s easy to hike around and since it’s not very big there is no risk for getting lost. During the winter most restaurants and shops are closed, but Sandhamn Seglarhotell is open and they have delicious food. The island is transformed during the summer months with lots of people, party and a much wider range of restaurants to choose from. So, depending on what you are after, choose the season to visit Sandhamn carefully. ;-)Guest review bySandraSweden - 10.0
The best place to visit in summer.
The best place to visit in summer. Especially if you are a sucker for sunset like me haha so yeah stay overnight in that case. I travelled a few days back and the beaches were literally empty and so I think there are not many people around in the early week of June but probably I just got lucky. Also because it is a small town it is easy to get around. However, the overnight stay can be a little expensive for students travelling on a budget but for that just look for some discount offer going on and also book early.Guest review bySamikshya - 10.0

Cosy and practical Norrtälje. Bugs.
Cosy and practical Norrtälje. Bugs. We had number of bitemarks in the morning. The window was shut and we were using our own bedclothes. During the night somebody was walking back and forth the front door talking on the phone leaving the door open. The door to our room could not be locked so we didn't sleep the night.Guest review byMarkoFinland - 10.0

Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to the more remote parts of the archipelago, as many of the ferries from Stockholm stop here before fanning out into the islands. There is a small range of cafes and restaurants, and the Thai Restaurant is particulalry good value and very friendly. The backstreets are well worth an explore, and it is only a short walk south over the bridge to the nature reserve. When the weather is good, it is simply stunning. We loved the Castle, too.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Varmdo is a district of 10 000 islands with few towns or villages to wander around or give a sense of place and culture. It has beautiful scenery, lakes, inlets, beaches, woods and farms which made it ideal for hiking and it would have been great for cycling as well as none of the inclines were too steep or too long. There are some beautiful nature reserves such as Bjorno and Sandarna which make the amazing bistro Bjorkvik a good place to pop in for food and drink. The boat services are generally good, but it's not easy to locate information about what is running and when - even Google struggled to find where the information was hidden and repeatedly gave best guesses! If you want to explore quaint villages, pop into shops, trip over a cute cafe for a snack or engage with locals, then Varmdo is not the place for you. If you want to explore nature, hardly see a soul, wild swim, trek through forests past ancient burial mounds and occasionally see people fishing or sailing in the lakes, then add the district to your plans.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom
