i love kinigi cottage! so glad i made the decision to switch accommodation from a high end property to the homely kinigi cottage. from the moment i arrived at the cottage until i left, everything was tailored for me. i was asked every day, before every meal, if there was something i’d like to eat. every meal was prepared with only the freshest ingredient homegrown. every one of the staff was very personable - every room at the cottage was occupied when i arrived yet I felt like i was the only guest. i’m certain other guests felt the same because i’ve observed the same level of attentiveness given to them. my room was very well-appointed with attention to details like fresh-cut flowers from the garden, accented local handicrafts, artwork, etc.

The place is central. The water is hot and the rooms are clean. We didn’t have breakfast. But I truly believe the staff makes the stay and Eric was genuinely incredible! Super helpful and communicative even before we arrived and assisted us with everything we needed with genuine care. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved the setting - eating breakfast in the outdoors while having all the volcanoes in view. The staff were super friendly and great to chat with. Michael was provided very helpful advice regarding transport and directions, as well as insights into the culture of Rwanda. Since rain was a possibility, they offered the room and tent for us to use as we prefer during our stay. Also very good local food!
