We loved this fascinating historic building, which had features in abundance, and a mix of historic antiquities and modern comfortable accommodation. Our hostess, Sylvia was gracious, generous, and full of knowledge about the building and the area. She and her husband were eager to please us. We loved the breakfast too!!! We recommend this as an ideal place to stay, the longer the better. Come on Australians, and others, expand your horizons! And live it up in this magnificent place.

Amazing location, located within the historic fortress-city of Marvão and yet easy to reach by car (it is located on the first square immediately after entering the city gates, with ample parking, so you don't have to navigate the narrow winding streets). The room has a beautiful panorama over the valley (looking northeast, across the Spanish border), as well as a stunning view of the castle from the balcony (looking northwest). The staff is very kind and attentive; even though it was very quiet at the hotel (it seemed I was the only guest), they still served me an extensive breakfast.

Everything from: - The Kindness of the staff and the present for my dog! He loved it. It’s the first time I see this kindness gesture towards animals. - The food was amazing, for lunch and during breakfast. The breakfast has improved, there was traditional bread that I could eat. Fruit, although it would have been betterif it was cut and ready, rather than having to cut it yourself with a butter knife.
