Very interesting town. Amazing views.
Very interesting town. Amazing views. Good for a couple of days break. Hot in the summer, but I imagine there are some lovely walks in cooler weather. Lots of shops with bargain priced quality bedding and towels if you want to stock up. Quite hilly, so keeps you fit.Guest review byEdwardSpain - 10.0

Got to Moncorvo visit the church and eat at restaurant Lagar. Next day go to Foz do Sabor and eat "peixinhos do rio" at a local restaurant. Then go to Horta da Vilarica, try to find out where the Padaria is and buy the local bread - out of this world. In Foz Coa you need to see the prehistoric rock-art sites in the Coa Valley - you have never seen anything like that. And drink the local wine, eat the local cheeses, try the local sausages and enjoy the friendly people. You'll not regret it.Guest review byMAUnited States - 10.0

Lovely walled town perched on top of a hillside with a commanding view of the Douro river. Excellent place to book a boat trip, which was amazing. The scientists on board are very helpful and informative , although the commentary is only in Portuguese and Spanish. This did not affect our experience. Although in Portugal Miranda do Douro has it's own local language. Do not expect English to be understood.Guest review byHolland - 10.0

The region is famous for the prehistorick art on rocks depicting animals 20,000 or more years ago, but there is also a profusion of medieval castles around and cultural sites. For lovers of good wine it is also an excellent visit, the north style of food is marvellous and all is very quiet. Some roads are a bit narrow if you want to go to remote pleces... I suggest to visit with time and go visit the small places, enjoy the quiet, the occasional wild animals, and take some time to hear the local people's stories.Guest review byWanderingwonderPortugal - 10.0

Mogaduro is a charming town a well worth a stopover if one is travelling in the region. There are plenty of bars and cafes to relax in and historical place to wonder around. Mogaduro is clean and tidy and clearly well maintained. Eating and drinking out is inexpensive and the local food is generally delicious.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The city is such a small and cute one.
The city is such a small and cute one. Walk around the walled city and make sure you visit the concathedral and see the Jesus of the Little Hat. Then make sure you take time to visit the surrounding villages and all the prairies.Guest review byTeresaPortugal - 10.0

I travelled by train from Porto to Pocinho and Vila Nova de Foz Coa is the only place I found to stay before travelling by coach to Guarda. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the facilities it had to offer and its location in beautiful countryside. It has a tourist office with a very helpful person there and I would have loved to have stayed longer to explore everything on offer but I was only there for one night.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom
