- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 21 reviewsWe liked the location very much: a quiet pedestrian street in an old part of Lisbon. Still a residential area despite some tourist accommodation. Lots of small cafes very close by, some traditional, some trendy. You'll be close to the Puppet Museum and a 10m walk away from the excellent Museu de Arte Antinguo, where there's a beautiful riverside garden and cafe. It's a 15 to 20 minutes walk in the other direction to the central Praca do Commercio. If you don't like walking, catch a tram or an Uber. Inside, the studio apartment is a bright, well designed space on the ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped and we very much appreciated the washing machine. Shower gel, cleaning products etc all provided, which made for an easy stay. There's a spacious cupboard which is big enough for those of us who don't travel light! We would certainly come back to this apartment if it was available. We come to Lisbon a lot and this was one of the best apartments we've found for price and location.Guest review byBelindaUnited Kingdom

Nice facilities and never overrun with other guests. A fresh and varied breakfast selection. Wonderful staff and an extra thanks to the shuttle bus drivers who were extremely personable and took time to share with us a bit about themselves and the Portuguese way of life. Genuinely gracious and helpful staff. Good room standard and well cleaned. Nice touch with free pastries delivered to the room in the middle of the week.Guest review byHelenSweden

A great city. Loved the Alfama area where our hotel was.
A great city. Loved the Alfama area where our hotel was. Easy to get transport/ taxis/ buses. Art and architecture beautiful. Lots to see and do. We also went on a couple of tours to neighboring cities/ areas. Food was great and varied. Lots of traditional Portuguese dishes. Friendly people. Met some very nice people. The funicular accident happened while we were there. Very sad 😢Guest review byjacquelineUnited States - 8.0

The biggest disappointment was purchasing an all day pass for two to ride the buses. We were out waiting for the bus early to get to our scheduled time at Pena and two buses stopped but would not make room for just the two of us to get on (no one else was at the stop). It was raining and we ended up having to hike up to Pena in a hurry to get to our time slot. I am still trying to get my purchase refunded as we were never able to ride the bus.Guest review byDaryl and SusanUnited States - 10.0

not so big town, with great and wide sandy beaches, good choice of restaurants and bars for all tastes. i was staying here in September, so it was not very crowded. whether you enjoy relaxing on the beach, or long walks along the beach - this place is perfect. in addition you can take public transport from here to nearby places - it is convenient and reliable way of getting to Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais etc.Guest review byemolendaPoland - 10.0
Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want...
Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want a relaxing break away. There are plenty of hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants but there isn’t a specific area or ‘strip’ of these, they are just dotted around. The casino and its garden are a dominant and attractive focal point so there are a few places near to it. There’s Portuguese food, of course, but also Italian, Chinese, Indian and Japanese. You can get fish and seafood dishes of any sort but there’s also lots of steak on offer. Prices are very reasonable. Some people travel in and out of the town specifically and solely to use the beach by day or the casino by night, some to attend events at the glamorous looking fort on the beach, so the town isn’t dead but it can feel quiet at certain times. It’s definitely a chilled out place to stay in. There are only a few local shops for groceries and not really any souvenir shops. In my opinion, it has more of a local, residential vibe and isn’t touristy. For a change of scene, by train Cascais is just a 5 minute ride away or Lisbon is about 40 minutes away. It’s great to visit either and then escape the crowds by returning to Estoril! There is currently a replacement bus service in operation after 9pm (not sure how easy that is to use) but at other times the trains are very frequent and inexpensive.Guest review byPaulaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 6.0
It was low season and there was not much going on.
It was low season and there was not much going on. It appears that apart from the beach and one golf club there is not so much to be done in Troia. There were a few restaurants but not that many. Supermarket in the village was extremely, expensiveGuest review byIrmgardPortugal - 10.0

Montijo is a hidden gem that beautifully blends traditional charm with modern amenities. Nestled close to Lisbon yet far enough to offer a serene escape, this town captivates with its rich history, friendly locals, and stunning natural landscapes. The quaint streets, vibrant markets, and delicious local cuisine provide an authentic taste of Portuguese culture. Its proximity to the Tagus River offers picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely walks or boat rides. Montijo is also a gateway to beautiful farm stays, where you can experience the peaceful countryside and savor fresh, local produce. The town's relaxed pace and welcoming vibe make it perfect for unwinding, while its convenient location allows easy exploration of nearby attractions. Whether you’re seeking tranquility, cultural immersion, or a base for day trips, Montijo delivers an unforgettable experience. A true Portuguese treasure that leaves you wanting to return!Guest review byManishPortugal - 6.0

It's becoming too crowded, and it is no longer safe at night on the beach or the promenade. Prices have gone up a lot in restaurants and cafés, and most of the time, the quality of the food and service doesn't justify it. Another nice place lost to the excess of tourism.Guest review byBernardoPortugal - 2.0
My recent stay at this property was, without question, the...
My recent stay at this property was, without question, the most infuriating and unacceptable experience I have ever endured in any accommodation. Over the course of four nights, my privacy was blatantly violated on multiple occasions. The managing couple entered our room without consent at least twice, with one particularly egregious incident where the hostess barged in despite knowing we were inside, even with the door closed. This was reported to Booking.com due to its severity. Their hospitality was nothing short of deplorable. The hosts constantly monitored our movements, especially in the kitchen, creating an oppressive atmosphere. They complained incessantly about our use of the coffee machine, which was supposedly freely accessible to all guests. The kitchen itself was woefully inadequate, lacking a microwave to heat food, and breakfast was rationed in a manner that felt insulting to paying guests. The hosts’ lack of respect extended to tampering with our personal belongings in the room during our absence, further eroding any sense of privacy or comfort. Their recommendations were utterly unreliable—following their advice about a nearby beach led us to an inaccessible location, resulting in unnecessary frustration. Even at check-out, the hosts displayed shocking rudeness, making no effort to engage with us and treating us with blatant disregard. This property represents the absolute worst of the hospitality industry. The hosts’ complete lack of professionalism, respect, and common decency made us feel like intruders rather than valued guests. I strongly advise against staying here—this place is a disgrace, and the constant surveillance, privacy violations, and hostile environment make it utterly unsuitable for anyone seeking a peaceful stay.Guest review byMoreiraPortugal
