- From US$1,981.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 262 reviewsThe service has been consistent over the years, the team really does love their work and their job, you can tell from the passion and warmth they serve. Louis - one of the OG sommeliers/manager and his colleague were fantastic - trying to recreate the best steak I've had at their property over 3 years ago. We say that time changes everyone, but I'm so glad to see that Six Senses remains exceptionally well run ~ please don't ever change that part! Also had a really enjoyable and dare I say life altering Osteopath Massage session - learnt a lot from my body and Lorenzo really did make my spine feel looser. Thank you!Guest review byCarolineHong Kong
- From US$258.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 373 reviewsThe hotel is very cozy and beautiful, nice spa, rooms are spacious enough and with all comforts. The hotel staff was helpful and attentive to detail, we got a welcome afternoon coffe and snacks which included different types of delicious handmade food and beverages, then welcome drinks before dinner where we were offered Porto wine. The hotel staff took great care of all guests. Amazing hotel, I'd love to go back, very much recommended!Guest review byEricaSweden
- From US$197.89 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,394 reviewsBreakfast was generous and tasty. Location was in the country, which is what we were looking for. Services (like laundromat, pharmacy, etc.) were in a town about 15 minutes away. Very quiet. Beautiful pool outside and very warm pool inside, as well as a sauna. We were greeted personally by the owner when we arrived, who insisted on taking our bags to our room. All the staff spoke very good English and were friendly and helpful.Guest review byAmyUnited States

Beautifully designed and furnished, stunning mountain views and spacious immaculate bedrooms. The breakfast was excellent, with an extensive buffet, a hot option and freshly cooked pastel de nata. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. The visit to the fabric factory was very interesting.Guest review byKatherineFrance

Viseu is a gorgeous little city with rich historical tales, medieval buildings, cute cafes, and lush gardens. I really loved this city and became impressed with how clean and safe it felt, as a young woman. I really want to visit this city again. Can’t say that for most of the cities in Portugal but Viseu was just so charming.Guest review byVictoriaUnited States - 6.0
Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere.
Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool. The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.Guest review byAnneFrance - 10.0
Guarda is a city where history and hospitality intertwine...
Guarda is a city where history and hospitality intertwine beneath the vast Portuguese sky. From the moment of arrival, the warmth and kindness of its people shine, making each encounter memorable. The city’s compact layout is perfect for wandering, though the hills reward every step with breathtaking views. The cathedral stands at Guarda’s heart, with its towers offering sweeping vistas over red rooftops and winding alleys. Nearby, the castle and medieval tower are silent keepers of centuries gone by, each providing a unique perspective of the land below. If time permitted, the wild peaks of Serra da Estrela would beckon nature lovers and hikers with their rugged beauty and scenic trails—a promise for another day. Evenings bring culinary delight: Simple.Guarda offers outstanding Italian cuisine, while charming cafes invite guests to linger over coffee and pastries. Shops and markets bustle with life, from tempting kitchen stores to fragrant flowers and perfectly ripe fruit. The ancient, winding streets—paved with time-worn stones—invite exploration, each turn revealing new surprises like parks, a chocolatier, and inviting squares. Our visit felt all too brief. As we left, Guarda remained with us—a city to savor, to wander, and to remember fondly for its gentle magic and the warmth of its people.Guest review byPhyllis - 10.0

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We left a day early because the town is quite remote and we were keen to move on. We are on a month long tour of Portugal though so a day didn’t make much difference to us. There isn’t much to do in Manteigas itself. Having said that, the guide in the local tourist office is exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable about the region. There are some beautiful views as you drive in and out of the town.Guest review bySuzy - 8.0

The general feeling is very good, mainly concerning SPA and corresponding facilities. The negative point is practical impossibility to speak in English with staff. It was not correct ROOM SERVICE, time wise and quality wise. There is a need to have a charging station for electric cars. Anyway we will recommend the hotel for sure!Guest review byMarkPortugal - 6.0

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.Guest review byDmitryUnited States - 10.0

Got to Moncorvo visit the church and eat at restaurant Lagar. Next day go to Foz do Sabor and eat "peixinhos do rio" at a local restaurant. Then go to Horta da Vilarica, try to find out where the Padaria is and buy the local bread - out of this world. In Foz Coa you need to see the prehistoric rock-art sites in the Coa Valley - you have never seen anything like that. And drink the local wine, eat the local cheeses, try the local sausages and enjoy the friendly people. You'll not regret it.Guest review byMAUnited States - 10.0

The town is the administrative centre for a group of villages, with a museum, town hall and the usual shops, including three large supermarkets. Tondela is spread along a steep hill on Route N2. There is access to the Ecopista da Dao cycleway which stretches for 48 km along a former railway track, now asphalted. Nearby is the remarkable Museu do Caramulo with a wonderful collection of historic and classic cars and motorcycles.Guest review byDesmondUnited Kingdom
