We didn't use it, but there is an outdoor swimming pool on part of their beautiful grounds.

SpainOur stay at the Convento do Seixo was exceptional from the moment of our arrival (thanks, Flavio, from reception, for your dedication and kindness). A perfectly restored former 16th-century convent that preserves its historical essence without sacrificing modern comfort. The rooms were spacious, elegant, and very quiet, making them ideal for unwinding. We also enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool, which offered views of the surrounding mountains. It is also a Spa where I received a repairing circulatory massage (thanks, Vera, for your skills).
The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times, always ready to help. The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant had excellent service (thanks, Cauan, for your attention and patience), well-presented dishes and surprising flavours.
Undoubtedly, a place to repeat and recommend. Ideal for a quiet getaway with charm with your partner.

I suppose the only thing I would change is maybe to have tea/coffee facilities in the room, but I don't think that this is a thing in Europe so no problem with this.

Talasnal has really been a spectacular, unique place with wonderful nature. And what exceeds all expectations is the service received by the staff at Talasnal Montanhas de amor and the Tavern. In addition to providing us with a delicious dinner, just to warm up in our cabin, since we had not brought food, they gave us a spectacular and tasty breakfast. And above all we received an extraordinary service, understanding our delay in checking out, which made us feel very grateful. And to complete this excellent service, when we forgot a laptop and a cell phone, they took all the trouble to contact my daughter, to give her the message. And we received great help in going down to the nearest town, these teams, so that we could pick it up on the way to Lisbon. A highly recommended paradise. The village, its streets, houses, is like having lived in a wonderful dream.

Our stay at Quintal De Alem Do Ribeiro in Lousã was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the friendly hosts made us feel warmly welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay.
The location of the property was breathtaking, surrounded by cultivated land, trees, and the serene Ceira River. The rustic yet modern character of the charming house added to its unique appeal. Each thematic room was tastefully decorated with traditional furniture and artifacts, creating a cozy and authentic atmosphere.
One of the highlights of our stay was the well-maintained outdoor pool, which provided a spacious and tranquil space to soak up the Portuguese sun and enjoy a refreshing swim.

We really Loved it. Perfect for a night or 2 if you are passing nearby. The service we got from the receptionist and the dinner chef was more than expected, especially the out-of-menu dishes they made for our kids. Really appreciate the effort done for us. Room is exactly needed size with comfortable beds and balcony with a view. Outdoor and indoor pools and , lovely spa. Thank you for a wonderful short stay. wish we could have stayed another night

This is an amazing hotel just outside of town. It is located on a farm. Rooms are just beautiful, clean and beds very comfortable. The hostess went out of her way to ensure we had everything we need. They even prepared breakfast earlier to accommodate our schedule.

I was here for work, but added a day to go hiking in the Gardunha mountains. Good hiking trails, with good signposts. The tourism office offers brochures in English. I like the scale of the city: small & calm, but with a good variety of shops, bars & restaurants.

Tabua is near the motorway network taking you all over Portugal and near some beautiful countryside. Its a typical town in central Portugal. Not too small, not too big, Some excellent coffee and cake shops.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town.
Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well.
It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

The town has a history of an artist's retreat, with a museum and Malhoa, the most famous artist's, residence. It has historic medieval buildings in a cobblestreet old town center. There is a large Saturday market with a lot of variety. The hilly countryside is gorgeous and features Sao Simao River Beach for swimming and hiking. It is easy to spend a week or more in the area.

I ended up at the fantastic museum National Museum Machado de Castro (highly recommended) in Penela, only to drive away 2 1/2 hours later and pass by so many other beautiful and amazing buildings (part of the University) I wish I had more time to explore :)

I did not have a chance to see much in Castelo Branco thanks to the heatwave (above 40 degrees celcius), but from tourist guides and from what I heard it is worth visiting when the weather is a lot cooler in the future.

Lousã is a larger town than expected but not much in terms of things to do other than the schist villages nearby. You need a car to get around and you do need to plan ahead as restaurants do close between lunch and dinner. Also, most restaurants are not dog friendly and mainly only cafés have outdoor seating, so it's not an option to bring your dog to dinner. Overall it was a beautiful visit and it's a peaceful place to be.
