More of a 'local character' than when I stayed in the IT...
More of a 'local character' than when I stayed in the IT Park area. I really did not enjoy IT Park because it was just a big mall area with businesses and restaurants and a lot of congestion and noise. The Pusok area was much quieter. More locals which I enjoy interacting with. Easier to get around. There is a mall area but it is not as big or nice as other malls in Cebu City. But I was able to find everything I needed. Some shops close a bit early though. When I return to Cebu City I will probably stay in this area again. I like how close it is to the airport because the ridiculous traffic in Cebu City concerns me when I need to get to the airport. I think the cost of lodging is more affordable in this area. The community is great.

There are tons of great parts of Cebu. Lapu Lapu / Mactan is one of many. So much to do, at all levels. Whether you're all high-end, seek to be one of the locals, or want a taste of everything, Lapu Lapu City has you covered. Beaches (of course), city/town life, great food options all around you, great activities for fun & activities, and easy to get around. We went to Mactan for a wedding and caught a 'Grab' taxi from the airport to the accommodation for about A$15. We had a room with a view to the sea, but could also see the housing of the locals, which contrasted to the fancy hotels - so sad to see the living conditions of locals.
