- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 103 reviewsJean-Philippe was by far one of the best hosts we've ever had, starting from the moment he welcomed us. We felt incredibly lucky that he was available to meet us at Papeete Airport—not only with a warm smile but also with a thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated. As we were on our honeymoon, it meant so much to be greeted by such a kind and genuine person. His home is exactly as pictured—if not even better. The pool was perfect, and one of the highlights of our stay was spending time with his lovely dog, Maya. She's such a calm and affectionate companion; we absolutely adored her. Jean-Philippe also gave us excellent recommendations during our stay, and the ones we followed were spot on. We also rented his car, which made getting around so much easier and more convenient. We're deeply grateful to have found someone like Jean-Philippe. Staying at his beautiful home was a wonderful experience, and our only regret is not being able to stay longer. Thank you so much for everything, and we truly hope to see you again!Guest review bySilviaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 152 reviewsA little bungalow right by the sea. At night you can hear the waves on the beach. The bungalow was all self contained with cooking facilities and fridge and air con and fans. It had an outdoor area with a BBQ. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was beautiful. There is a bus service from Papeete or you can rent a car via the accommodation. About 40 kms from Papeete but only about 8kms from Taravao. In a little town you can buy fresh fish straight from the boat at the weekend, it has a small Carrefore and a Supermarket U.Guest review bySUEAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 113 reviewsA gem find. The architecture of the free standing cabin is very interesting, but above all it's very charming. The solutions to water runoff are very impressive on such a steep lot. Nice theme throughout. views from the pool patio and the garden swing are beautiful. Hosts very discrete (we just heard them entertaining on their own patio but they stayed reasonably quiet and we did not get to meet them during this stay). The sink and fawcet fawcet in the bathroom are quirky and very neat.Guest review by100AaCanada
- From US$152.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 599 reviewsWe loved our stay here! The view is breathtaking and the shared pool is big and not busy. The rooms are really big and comfortable, with AC and a fan. we had the family room which was ideal for our family of 4. The breakfast, although slightly towards the expensive, was delicious with a big selection. The staff was also very nice and helped us whenever needed throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again!Guest review byMariaPortugal

Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French.
Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French. Very 3rd world, unsafe water, no sidewalks, trash and graffiti abounds, bums begging, dirty drainage canals, and for this you are charged extremely high prices for everything! Bora bora wasn't much better... Moorea was nice. We took a cruise to the Marquesas and Tuamotus which were still unspoiled and gorgeous with genuine natives. The islands are stunning, but just go to Hawaii.Guest review byJanisUnited States - 10.0

I made a late evening reservation due to a last minute change in my travel plans after arriving at the Tahiti airport. I needed an overnight stay and was lucky I found such a good accommodation for which the host Wilfred made even better as we discussed visiting nearby Moorea island and the two ferry options to get there (select the white boat 😊). He showed me around the outdoor lounge and kitchen area adjacent to the pool. The area has a great view of the sky and ocean since the LODGE sits atop hills. The personal touches are things one would not receive at a standard hotel. I’d definitely recommend the LODGE to others.Guest review byVictoriaUnited States - 4.0

The room had a nice view & the tv had netflix but it was noisy with the bar playing music all night. If you have any food intolerances don't go here, they don't cater for it at all & aren't prepared to make anything that isn't on the menu. The jet ski's are constantly whizzing past just outside the lagoon so swimming in the sea is dangerous & they have resident Cockerell's in the property that call constantly from dawn to dusk. The nearest supermarket is 1.5 miles away & you have to walk at the side of a very busy duel carriageway & breathe in the fumes. The reception & bar staff are lovely but the catering staff are unhelpful & unpleasant apart from the chef.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

If you rent a car, there are lots of traffic circles and they drive fast! Ate at food trucks which were really good and good price. Walked to a little corner store which provided enough to get us through the first day. Careful of the dogs running wild in the streets. Seem friendly enough, but did hear of a person getting bitten by one. Would not want to walk in the dark in that area. Hotel seemed safe at night. Rented a vehicle and drove the entire island of Tahiti Anui and Tahiti Iti. High recommend driving the entire island. Lots to see and do!Guest review byHeidiCanada - 10.0
Amazing! We cooked our on food.
Amazing! We cooked our on food. The Villa was great my kids had their own room, blast music, no neighbors, walked the mountain. Thing I didn’t like not air on the mountain as far as breeze none even with the all the windows open we had to call the owner to get fans for air. They were accommodating to bring us fans. Other than that perfect! Will go back to stay at the same Villa hands down.Guest review byTaraUnited States - 10.0
I liked the area because it was away from the main city.
I liked the area because it was away from the main city. The locals are very friendly. Just make sure you have transportation. I would recommend renting a car. Although we rented a car from the airport, there is a car rental place near the lodge. It may be cheaper, as airport rentals tend to be higher.Guest review byAmberUnited States - 6.0

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.Guest review byLeeAustralia - 10.0

A short taxi ride from downturns and the airport but our hosts made all our bookings and shops and a market were a 10 minute walk down the hill. It can be a little hot walking in Tahiti. Traffic chaotic if you come from a quiet location.Guest review byMercer - 2.0

We couldn't sleep due to 95 degree temperature in unit. We were too exhausted to do anything. Not easy to get around as taxis are booked up in advance. Unit is in gated community so taxis can't get in.Guest review byStanleyUnited States - 10.0
Over-all it was great.
Over-all it was great. We spent 7 days on Tahiti, plus a half-day excursion on Moorea. 5 days on Tahiti would probably be enough. Next time we will visit a couple of others islands for a few days. Good food and shopping in Papeete.Guest review byMurphyUnited States
