Good bed, shower and kitchen. Everything was clean. Proactive communication and also a parking spot for the car.

AustraliaVery clean and comfortable. We stayed here during our family trip to NZ and I remember this was one of the best places we’ve stayed. We cooked dinner and the kitchen had everything we needed. The lake was within 5 mins drive away so we went there for stargazing at night which was amazing.

AustraliaThis beautiful property is a lovely escape from the city. The views of the rolling hills and surrounds from the upstairs bedroom are particularly fantastic. Mike was a great host and full of tips for the surrounding area, and the incredibly friendly dogs were a real highlight. We also enjoyed feeding the alpacas, marvelling at the lavender plants and enjoying homemade jam as part of the provided breakfast. An extremely comfortable stay, we’d recommend this place to anyone travelling through the area, including to or from Lake Tekapo or Timaru.

This place must be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Lots of options for food, a cute grocery store and finding parking to go and do things was easy. I have never seen so many stars at night either!

We were travelling on to another destination so had only planned to stay 1 night. Geraldine is a lovely township. Worth a visit. The Barkers shop is a must. The café is superb. Plenty of other excellent places to eat. Everything pretty much within walking distance.

The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for. There are a couple of nice shops - not much else there although you could visit the nearby hamlets which looked to have some interesting features.
We tried to walk along the river but the path was quite overgrown.

The accommodation was clean and well equipped. You can get food there but we decided to cook our own.
A great couple of nights stay in an ideal location.

A quaint town that is known for its dark skies -- it was a wonderful experience stargazing at night. During the day, the lake provides a wonderful backdrop for pictures and the area is rich in history. We also enjoyed the fish and chips by The Better Batter -- definitely a must try!

Geraldine is a pleasant place to stop overnight on your way to Christchurch or Tekapo. There are a lot of facilities for a small town.
We had a nice brunch at Verde which I can recommend for it's nice food and surroundings.

Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo. Has been refurbished and had everything we needed. Shower was great & beds were very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet despite being near main road. Host was friendly & welcoming. Maybe a little small for more than 2 or 3 people or for more than a couple of nights. Travellers need to bring all food etc as no shops in settlement.

One of the most photogenic places in the South Island - plenty of activities available - although most are strictly weather dependant (i.e. helicopter flights) but it's also a nice place to relax - there's a reasonable range of restaurants and cafes, a very well stocked supermarket and enough perfect camera angles to fill a book! We experienced a glorious sunset on the first night at Tekapo but woke the next day to find five inches of snow on the ground and both roads in and out of the village closed which was a bit concerning. By midday it had stopped snowing and the sun came out to reveal a veritable winter wonderland scene - not bad for spring!

Geraldine is an attractive little town and a great place to stay. It has interesting shops and restaurants. Grandpa's Toys is a great wee toy shop. Verde is a lovely place for lunch and breakfast. The Village Inn is a warm, friendly place for dinner. They have a new Thai restaurant, a very good Indian, and Barkers, where you can have breakfast and lunch and buy their great food products. There is also a lovely little cafe up in Woodbury. Woodbury also has a beautiful church.
