Her professionalism and genuine concern for guests made us feel right at home. A perfect place to stay for mountain biking enthusiasts! There’s a dedicated bike wash area, and I was able to safely store my bike right in the private outdoor hot tub area of the room, which made me feel totally at ease about bike security. The private hot tub was just what I needed to relax after a full day on the trails. An added bonus was the shared sauna in the motel — a wonderful surprise! Both my husband and I really enjoyed it. This place had everything we needed for a comfortable and refreshing stay.

Hell's gate geothermal pools was fascinating.

Hell's gate geothermal pools was fascinating. Mud bath and spa pools gave us unique experience. Worth a try. It was very crowded but staff managed everyone well. Matai Maori experience including Maori singing and dancing was very good. Got to know more of Maori culture and food prepared in Hangi.

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua. Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet. Our accommodation on the Lake edge was so tranquil and peaceful we 'hunkered ' down for the weekend choosing only to venture out for walks.

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just...

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

If you don’t want to pay a for the big thermal attractions, go for a walk in Kuirau Park, which has plenty of steam and bubbles! We loved the majesty and silence of the Redwood Forest. You can walk around Ohinemutu Village, a functioning Māori village, and see the intersection of white and Māori cultures in the architecture. Also enjoyed Mitai Māori Village.u

Great things to do either indoors if raining and outside when fine. Cafes and restaurants reasonably priced. Some main street shops need a tidy up to keep attracting people there. Looking a bit run down now. Parks and public amenities looking good. Business staff where we visited very friendly and helpful ☺️

I loved the nature and surrounding lake and canals. Good for people with boats and who want to get away from populated areas. If needing food supplies bring with you as the restaurant on site works according to bookings (eg not all day /all the time). Very enjoyable site to relax and enjoy the pool, nature and gym onsite though.
