This was a last minute booking as the hotel we had booked was terrible. The staff where fanatic, it was my wife's birthday and I happened to mention this in passing the staff brought us a bottle of wine the evening we checked in with a little birthday note. Then the following day they brought us a brownie with a candle and sang happy birthday!!!! This really made our day the staff went above and beyond. The hotel was very nice rooms where very nice and clean.

The staff and their services are beyond exceptional. They are so lovely for allowing us to have our elopement wedding ceremony on the hotel grounds. Check-in and check-out are so swift too. We stayed in the Lakefront suite and enjoyed the fireplace and the bath tub that goes with it. It is truly more than what we have expected. They even served our breakfast in our room because we had to leave really early in the morning. The hotel, the scenery, the staff, the facilities, and the peacefulness in the area are soooo worth the money.

we loved everything, e g the presence of a pool and barbecue, but especially we loved the extra caring details. The bottle of sun screen by the pool, the bottles of full milk in the fridge, the herbs planted by the barbecue and hangi, the opportunitity to do your own HANGI, the mineral hot pools, the welcome package, the generous pool and spa opening hours, the ECO awareness…. Most of all the wonderful staff and their tips about places to visit and things to do.

Tim and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The kids loved the pool and having the bath in the backyard. The configuration of the rooms were perfect, as kids could sleep in front whilst adults have access to the bath to relax in the evening 🙂 Will definitely stay again everything was clean and tidy. We have 3 kids and it worked for us perfectly

Te Puia is well worth visiting for the natural Geysers and the tour of the education centre/College as well as very tasty Hāngī/buffet we had as part of the tour. Worth going round Waitapu thermal Park to see the hot mud pools, a great walk around them to view the different colour pools. and a visit to Waitomo glow worm Caves. these are fascinating and beautiful.

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua. Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet. Our accommodation on the Lake edge was so tranquil and peaceful we 'hunkered ' down for the weekend choosing only to venture out for walks.

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just...

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

Oh my word...where to start😁 there is a lot to do in and around Rotorua....but you need at least 4+ days there. Few things to do that is not too expensive: The tree walks day and night time Gondola ride Mitai Maori tour Small boat trips A definite is the hot spa tub in the forest Pig & whistle restaurant a must The war memorial park These are to name but a few....LOTS MORE THINGS TO DO AND PLACES TO SEE

Hell's gate geothermal pools was fascinating.

Hell's gate geothermal pools was fascinating. Mud bath and spa pools gave us unique experience. Worth a try. It was very crowded but staff managed everyone well. Matai Maori experience including Maori singing and dancing was very good. Got to know more of Maori culture and food prepared in Hangi.

I loved the nature and surrounding lake and canals. Good for people with boats and who want to get away from populated areas. If needing food supplies bring with you as the restaurant on site works according to bookings (eg not all day /all the time). Very enjoyable site to relax and enjoy the pool, nature and gym onsite though.
