The hosts were so lovely and the place had a really comfortable vibe. It's located so close to the kai iwi lakes and an easy day trip from there to do the surrounding areas of opononi etcGuest review bykarenNew Zealand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 40 reviewsKaren and Eric provided a wonderful stay in a very well appointed suite that was spotlessly clean, with the most comfortable bed. Dinner was a culinary delight and breakfast was both delicious and generous.Guest review byHelenAustralia

Mangawhai is a quiet seaside, small town but it has everything you need for a wonderful seaside holiday. Lovely restaurants, safe boating, absolutely stunning beach for walks. Colourful quintessential kiwi baches are everywhere surrounded by Pohutekawa and other natives trees full of birds.Guest review byJacquiAustralia - 8.0

Kai Iwi Lake which is located 30 minutes by car is so beautiful. Supahn Thai Restaurant in Dargavill is very nice. There is countdown and warehouse in Dargavill and we can prepare the enjoy at the lake or hiking at Kauri park.Guest review byTakeshi5New Zealand - 10.0
Autumn holidays, quiet and relaxing,
Autumn holidays, quiet and relaxing, only negative experience ( NOT CONNECTED TO THE BACH !!), fish and chips take away from local Sharkies-fish & chips, extremly unhappy about timeframe ( almost 1 for 4 bits of fish and 2 tiny hands of chips), quantity and quality of product-- can't recommendGuest review byAndrewNew Zealand - 10.0

A very nice place to stay with everything in excellent condition...the hosts were also very friendly & helpful...the only thing we feel needs addressing are the installing of curtains/blinds above the bed & also above the seating in living area.Guest review byMurrayNew Zealand - 10.0

So wonderful being in the middle of a Kauri Forest with the river running through it. The only sound you could hear apart from the birds. A beautiful place to stay. Wish we had another night to unwind there.Guest review byRussellAustralia - 8.0
Good central location.
Good central location. We explored the Wetland and used it as home base to explore Pouto Beach and the Beaches along the west coast beyond Dargaville, including the Pouto Lighthouse, Glinks Gully and Baylys Beach. There might be places closer to the west coast, but we booked spontaneously and Paparoa is only a short 45min drive away from Dargaville. The Kauri Museum is just around the corner, too.Guest review byDanielNew Zealand - 10.0
Definitely a rural community.
Definitely a rural community. Activities available and the host offered to escort us up the nearby Toka Toka peak. The region offers a sample of New Zealand farm land. It can be as laid back or active as desiredGuest review byKayeNew Zealand - 10.0
Paradise! Such a beautiful clean beach.
Paradise! Such a beautiful clean beach. Great selection of cafes and even a big supermarket now. Stunning climate and we weren't bothered at all by flies or mosquitoes, which is a definite bonus in a coastal townGuest review byRebekahNew Zealand - 8.0
Dargaville is a great town.
Dargaville is a great town. Shopping centre is reasonably comprehensive. You need to research things to do. In summer Kai Iwi lakes is a great place to visit, swim, launch your boat ( if you have one) stay in the camping ground or just pitch your own tent. There are plenty of cafes and eating establishments. Research the area and things to do in the area before you go.Guest review byTechnicianNew Zealand - 8.0

Host was accomodating, room wasn't private enough for us as it was positioned next to the shared deck and garden and the sound of people talking and builders next door was quite audible in the unit.Guest review byJOHNNew Zealand
