I loved the boutique style of the hotel, nice interior with great art, comfortable guest lounge, as well as a beautiful room. Got a lot of information and had nice chats with owner and manager Luke. Free parking is a plus, great restaurant downstairs if you wish to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Will definitely stay there again when I have a chance!

The location was absolutely amazing - right at the beach, next to a playground with lots of toys in the sand pit, water / beach views from the deck.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was enough space in the bed room to set up a baby cot.
The kitchen was well equipped and offered free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a small bottle of milk. The fridge and freezer are nice and big.
The interior of our self contained unit looked fairly new and it was all clean.
We could park our car right next to our cabin.
Absolutely loved staying here and would love to come back sometime. Highly recommended for a relaxed tie away with the family at a lovely, safe west coast beach ❤️

We have always liked staying at One Burgess Hill... the kids just love it.

It was good to see the old facades of the shops.
It was good to see the old facades of the shops. Friendly city. Fabulous board walk, giving us time to enjoy the sea air.
Our airbnb (Cosy Unit Apartment on Longview),was lovely with extremely friendly hosts who made us very welcome.
Our Superhost also helped me to sort out an engine issue with my car.
The local supermarket was very handy and we enjoyed a pub dinner close by too.
We will go back to New Plymouth.

It is a natural beach loved by surfers!
It is a natural beach loved by surfers! Take the kickboard, go directly into the sea, and enjoy the fun of surfing. If you are tired, you can rest on the beach. The sunset is beautiful and not to be missed. But there is no lighting after sunset so be careful walking back to where you parked

This is a place for a get-away to refresh yourself. The boutique accomodation is comfortable and clean. The restaurant at the hotel is special with amazing food, and a great atmosphere. The wifi didnt reach our room but who cares?! we came for a break 💕 Sunshine and great walks nearby made it a great escape from life.
And bonus (although I didnt use it this time) this place is pet friendly so you can stay with your dog!

Had the most fabulous 86 year old walking guide from the Museum .
His wealth was immense.
Learnt so much about the early history of New Plymouth particularly the Taranaki Maori.
Loved it .
Will be back.

It was very poor accommodation.
It was very poor accommodation. Not clean before we got there room was very smelly n musky dirty smell. Lots missing from room. Utensils, TV remote, pots, toaster, iron. We couldn’t book anywhere else all booked out a big festival was on in the area. Emergency housing was in the Lodge they were disgustingly dirty (bogens) Dogs inside their hotel room. Their rooms were disgustingly yuk. Not a good experience I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Very poor. Bad Experience.

A great place to stop off and relax and enjoy the beach. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the accommodation comfy and clean. It was nice to sit out on the veranda. The shared bathroom was large with nice showers and was very well looked after.
The kitchen had several ovens, cookers, microwaves and sinks to cater for a number of people. There were also free gas bbq's available to use. You needed to provide your own cooking utensils and plates etc.

Hotel is in central location.
Hotel is in central location. Easy to find if you get lost too. Z Garage gave my latte free as they got the order wrong. Everyone in the town was talkative and friendly. Marbles buffet was the bomb and it was packed. Staff were fabulous. Caretaker beside reserved parking was friendly and gave us directions. Weather was beautiful also.

We visited the new swing bridge just out of Stratford, takes about a half hour walk to get to it but well worth it. Walked to the township for a meal which was good as the weather was superb. We dined at Malones for dinner which was really nice. On the Sunday we had a great coffee and cake at a little gallery just off the main street which was a hidden gem.

Absolutely lovely area, not too far from New Plymouth...
Absolutely lovely area, not too far from New Plymouth township. We enjoyed our purchase from the local fish n chip shop, hamburger, egg burgers and fish n chips. Well worth it.
Went for walks on the beach, great place to relax and watch the local surfers doing what they love. Stayed for 2 nights (wasn't long enough). Lovely place, locals are friendly, easy to navigate your way around the area.
Well worth a visit.
