Punakaiki is a beautiful place.

Punakaiki is a beautiful place. There are lots of things to see and do such as beach fun, bush walks, enjoying spectacular views, sunsets, Dolomite point with pancake rocks and blowholes especially at high tide. Visitors Centre is highly recommended.

Westport always delivers no matter what the weather. So many things to see & do including fantastic walkways & cycle rides. After any good ride, a great place to have a beer is at the Shortjaw brewery.

Our trip was for four wheel driving into old gold mine sites. Plenty to see and do here. Reefton is one of the few places still readily available for unlimited four wheel driving. Please dont be like the rest of the country and start closing areas down.

Just a beautiful location and base for hiking the Heaphy and Oparara Basin as well as visiting other beautiful areas nearby. Definitely worth the drive north of Westport. Miss it and you miss out on so much.

Carters Beach is possibly the safest swimming beach on the South Island's west coast. Well developed coastal reserve with toilet, change and BBQ facilities. Popular local restaurants and only a short distance to the cycle trail, jet-boating, kayaking, bush railway and mining adventures. Westport City is nearby and the locally brewed beers some of the best in New Zealand - try their Pilsener ! Fresh fish and whitebait in season, locally baked pies including game meat options ; venison and pork ! Brilliant history and fantastic coastal features include Cape Foulwind and lighthouse, off shore islands with sea bird nesting, penguins and seals beaches, best visited from nearby Tauranga Bay. Take ya bike and ride the trail, its great

Charleston is very small town with old history from the gold fever time. Very quiet place. There are some activities as underground caves. You can also visit near old gold mine or to do short beach walk.

Lewis Pass Motel is the Ideal place to get away from the city, Comfort of home, quiet restful and was blessed with awesome weather. The tap water is really good. Only drink filtered water in the city. It was REALLY GOOD !!!! Didn’t get to Springs Junction itself. Used the motel as a base to spend time at Maria Springs. Will go back and look at the walks in the area.

We absolutely loved our time here.

We absolutely loved our time here. Everything was right on our doorstep, stunning walks, mountain biking trails, and even a great local spot for dinner at the Star Tavern just down the road. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the setting, tucked into the hillside near the Lighthouse walking track and Kawatiri Cycle Track, was just beautiful. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

The motel unit was absolutely clean and welcoming.

The motel unit was absolutely clean and welcoming. Had everything we needed. The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. The wifi worked better outside the unit and closer to reception/cafe area, good excise for a coffee, but it did not worry us because we wanted a break from it all. It worked well when we needed it.

The Pancake Rocks is a must to see.

The Pancake Rocks is a must to see. Pathways and viewing stations wonderfully laid out with the stone walls and the natural landscaping. Fantastic views from so many angles and advantage points. The day we were there the sea was coming in strong and fierce so we saw the holes blow and the sea water spraying up.
