nice breakfast- fruits, cereals with milk, coffee, tea, pancakes, donuts, but banana cake was the best. clean room, beds and toilet. bedframe was sturdy, doesnt creak much when climbing. big lockers provided as well. old but well maintained. kitchen was clean and the utensils are top notch, the best ive seen so far (non stick pans plus its top grade - fry and egg and itll slide right off without sticking) near a big supermarket.

Beautiful property, very stylish and nicely done. We had an early pickup on the first day and the staff kindly arranged a great take away breakfast. located in the heart of the cenotes natural reserve , this glamping site was a great change to the normal hotels we usually book. the site is fantastic and the fire camp is amazing … with marshmallows provided …. the kids were delighted ! also amazing to meet Mexican touring the area and we spent the evening talking with the other glampers around the fire pit. we slept well in the tent and had Cindy towels and bed linen … very cozy ! the pool is stunning , the restaurant is very tasty : we had their homemade pizzas and their homemade pancakes for breakfast. 2 meals for 4 + drinks costed us 1000 MXN … and all that with the friendliest staff !

A very nice, cute boutique hotel with a beautiful garden and a small pool which feels like an oasis. Location is perfect, not in the hustle and bustle but at 10 min walking distance to the center and very close to the nicest street with a lot of cafes restaurants and boutiques. The area, like all around the town is very safe. Rooms are very elegantly decorated from natural materials. Has a very good performing a/c. Breakfast and other meals at the menu are just delicious. Staff is sooo kind and helpful, always positive and smiling. I highly recommend this hotel.❤🙏.

Stunning resort - the site is extremely peaceful, with thoughtful reuse of historic details, and the villas feel very private. Bicycles and the early morning coffee are a lovely touch. Staff were more than attentive especially when it came to proactively finding out personal preferences, which were executed beautifully. Concierge superb.

Check out the two light shows at the downtown church and the ex-convent. Both, unfortunately start at 9pm so you might have to catch them at two different times. For more affordable food options, don't bother eating at the Calzada de los Frailes restaurants. Most places are overpriced!

Progreso is just an amazing town.

Progreso is just an amazing town. If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, I think Progreso feels like PV back when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were wandering around. A little less crazy busy, a little smaller, a little more town than city. People are awesome, the Yucatan culture is very present and it has a different vibe than the Atlantic side. The Gulf Of Mexico is truly a guilty pleasure. We spent hours in that warm bath water. Progreso has great people. great food, great sites, a great beach, and a wonderful Malecón/Boardwalk combo. The boardwalk side is on the other side of the Pier and it is also awesome with a different vibe. It has a local family feel and an amusement park. Just a great stay. We loved Izamal, it's such a beautiful city and the people are super friendly. Even the guy selling fresh juice in the town square was really friendly, yelling out good morning. Izamal is a visually stunning town as well, photographers will love it so don't forget your camera! And the food was delicious everywhere we went. My friend had never been before and we both want to go back.

This gem of a seaside village is my go to place to get away.

This gem of a seaside village is my go to place to get away. I love the fact that there are few foreign tourists and you get to experience a more genuine local culture. Although generally very safe during the day, make sure you lock up well at night and I recommend you find a private parking lot. I love the fact that the beach (all public - there are no private beaches in Mexico) is unpretentious without all the fuss (and charges) you get on the Riviera Maya. Local families just bring their umbrellas (or makeshift shade with old coconut leaves), their coolers, loudspeakers, dogs, and spend the whole day (from 6 am to 7pm or later). The beach is relatively quiet as groups are spread out and there's plenty of space. If you walk for 10 - 15 minutes on the beach you will find areas with no one in sight. The pier is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. It's a great place to rest and take long strolls on the beach far from the maddening crowds. You also won't find overpriced souvenir and crafts peddlers. I am disappointed that they don't serve a larger variety of seafood dishes in restaurants. All you find in most places are prawn, octopus and fish ceviches and if you don't eat lemon, you're in a pickle. This time I found some fresh oysters (small but tasty) but would have loved to have had some chargrilled fish or fresh clams. I guess there's just not enough demand. There are a few options though, including some vegan / vegetarian places.

Over all the stay was great, hacienda was beautiful staff was not the best customer service! Waiters were great receptionist were not attentive perhaps they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome! Would I go again yes! Hacienda was beautiful, and I will definitely go back just because of the comfort, and I would like to spend more time to enjoy the pool and peaceful feeling. I would also go back to try the spa, si ce I didn’t have the time. If I go back and I receive the same customer service from receptionists might go to another spa!

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

I love the walkability of the old part of Centro Merida. Lots of cafes and restaurants in all different price ranges. Some of the colonial buildings have been restored and some look like ruins which adds to the interest and intrigue. I felt very safe walking any time of the day or evening.
