Probably one of the best Hostel stays on my travels. Really liked this property. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. The Property is nice and clean. Beds and bedding very comfortable and great to have privacy curtains around the beds. Air-conditioner goes on at night. Other guests were all very respectful and considerate towards eachother and kept noise factor low. Breakfast was also very good and nice filter coffee is always a bonus. Not far from the ADO bus station for taking an early morning bus to ones next destination.

Beautiful tranquil setting. The underground cave pool was AMAZING!!! Breakfasts were good. Loved seeing the tortoises wandering free. And I have to say a big Thankyou to Martin who helped us get rescued from the Cuota highway when we ran out petrol at 1.00am.

This was my 3rd visit here - this shows how lovely the place is. Unspoilt natural beauty, both in the jungle and right on the lake. They have their own little deck right on the lagoon. Free kayaks to borrow or you can go on a guided tour. I recommend the jungle walk with Jacqueline - a tranquil way to start the day. The food from the restaurant was exceptional - not a huge menu which is great as everything is freshly prepared. The rooms / cabins are tastefully simple. This is my favourite place to stay in Mexico - in fact probably the whole world!!

We came to Hotel Playa Laguna Front to unplug, relax, and enjoy the lagoon -- and that's exactly what we did for 5 days. The hotel is in a prime location, sitting at perhaps the most colorful, swimmer-friendly part of the lagoon. You can tell it's a prime spot because a lot of boat tours end around this area to let people swim in the lighter waters there near the cenote. It's also only a couple kms from the town center, so you can easily get into town while still having enough distance from the more touristy center. The hotel itself isn't a fancy upscale place, but that's not what we were looking for. Nonetheless the hotel is new and the facilities are clean/modern with great bathrooms. The hotel is run by a lovely team who were really accommodating...big thanks to the manager Evaristo for always being there to help with any questions. Another great thing is that the kayaks and sup-boards are free to use from 6am to 6pm. The only day you can't use them is on Wednesday when no water activities (other than swimming) are allowed across the lagoon. Wednesdays are conservation days, with inactivity allowing the lagoon to restore itself.

Our stay at Hotel Solana Bacalar Lakefront was a pleasure from the moment we arrived. The hotel has a beautiful setting right by the lagoon, with peaceful surroundings and views that make you slow down and relax. The reception and restaurant/bar staff were genuinely excellent — professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warmth made the stay feel personal and easy, and we really appreciated the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. The on-site restaurant offers great food and drinks in a lovely lakeside setting, perfect for watching the colors of Bacalar’s lagoon change through the day. A place that combines natural beauty with attentive service — highly recommended.

Service: I spent one night at Papaya Playa Project in a beautiful Casita with a rooftop pool, and it was truly unforgettable. There is something about this place that captures the authentic soul of Tulum. The sound of the waves, the scent of the jungle, and the warmth of the people blend perfectly to create an atmosphere that feels both wild and deeply peaceful. Watching the sunrise from my rooftop pool felt like witnessing the world come alive. The sea in front of me, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and the soft rhythm of nature all around me created a feeling of pure magic. What I loved most about Papaya Playa Project is its energy. It is not just a hotel; it is a place that makes you feel part of Tulum itself. Everything here feels genuine, earthy, and real. It is a space to disconnect from everything and reconnect with yourself. My stay was short but soul-stirring. I left feeling renewed, inspired, and with a piece of this beautiful place forever in my heart.

Staff and the hotel were great, and I couldn't say I could find any issues after reading a few less favourable reviews.. Rooms are a good size and very clean and cool. Also well serviced by friendly staff.. I got to the hotel long before my check-in time, and my luggage was looked after while I relaxed in the pool area. I then was offered a room way before my time, and I was not disappointed, infact I may have been quietly given an upgrade. To me, that was staff going above and beyond to make me feel welcome.. There's a small shop for basics, etc, or pharmacy next to the hotel. Compared to more expensive hotels around it depends on your budget but for price this was good for what you really need..

Quite underwhelmed which is a shame, 2 to 3 days max would have been better. Nice sunny days but when it rains the roads and pavements are very slippery, like walking on ice. In the "city" there is a smell of drains wherever you go after rain and for quite sometime

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

Not a place to stay more than 2 nights in my opinion

Not a place to stay more than 2 nights in my opinion Lots of stalls selling tours. Though beach free to access north of the ferry terminal. There is only a narrow strip of sand in many areas due to beach resort hotels roping it off. Lots of restaurants, in the evening a few bars are so loud it makes the area unpleasant ( unless you like noise). Beaches are cleared of seaweed every morning Head south to Tulum or North to Poerto Morelos for better experience

We live in NYC, and were flabbergasted at the prices. The lack of beach access unless you go to a beach club is wild. Glad we ticked it off for the cenotes, and some restaurants such as ARCA that were worth the price tag, but other than that would skip it in the future and not go back

The downtown area is full of good restaurants with excellent Yucatecan food with reasonable prices, and service. The main Cenote and local food market is easily walkable from the main square. Walking is the best mode of transportation as everything is close by. The locals are welcoming and kind with a spirit of community and acceptance to outsiders. If you are fortunate enough to rent a place with a kitchen there is a grocery store on 39th street with everything you need to make a meal. They have a Turi bus that will pick you up at the main plaza for a fee and will take you around all the important parts of the city. The ADO Bus station is close by and can be used for trips to close by towns. They also have a "Vay y Ven" bus system for short trips around town. Valladolid is a quaint Spanish colonial style town with colonial architecture buildings mostly painted in pastel colors.

though we were at the seasonal end of the Rainy season the roads did flood. The Hotel is far from the city center and are not walkable during certain times. taxi four wheelers at 200 pesos on way. Mangroves and rain make for flooded passages. We rented a bikes to get around however the puddles were too deep to get through. You do need GPS many options of getting to and from the hotel in Coco beach area. taking the weather in stride we enjoyed our 5 night stay in Holbox. There were great sunny periods and walked the beaches, sat under palapas, swam, and walked the sand bars at low tide, Coco beach and Mosquito. This place is what Tulum must have been 30 years ago. There is plenty of development/construction here and if you want to beat the commercialism it is time to go now, Luv it woud go back in a flash. I will go back. We found the best vegan vegetarian place Artes Sona a must.

So close to the historical zocalo, the water, the shops and restaurants. Safe. Everything was perfect, quiet, hot showers, attentive, English speaking staff. My only complaint was in my back, quiet room, wifi was rare. But such great coffee shops and cafes to do everything made this only drawback a non-issue. Campeche was really a wonderful rest stop on the way to Palenque. And there’s a local tram-like train to the Tren Maya station that runs from the zocalo once an hour, located at the beach. Tip - your phone may trick you by an hour due to time zone switch.

I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving. While the people are friendly and the number of good restaurants has increased over that time, unfortunately the reef has been degraded effecting the diving experience. Its is my contention the powers that control Cozumel care more about making money from cruise ships than the environment, local people or infrastructure of Cozumel.

We were there during mid-November.

We were there during mid-November. The rainy season was coming to an end. It rained but only for an hour or so and quickly moved on. It was off-season, so there were smaller crowds (still crowded though). Most of the north end is walkable. To enjoy the island the most, rent a golf cart for at least one day. Rentals are plentiful. We recommend "MEGA rentadora Ciro's" on Av. Guerrero MZA 1 LTE 6, Centro - Supmza. 001, 77400 Isla Mujeres, Q.R.. Newer carts at a very good price. There are plenty of activities across the island but the views and history of Punta Sur makes it well worth a visit. We were afraid the restaurants along the pedestrian-only road would be over-priced and not very good, but we were wrong. We had several meals in Centro that were very good and the prices were comparable to the rest of the island.
