Casa Piedra is amazing, really nice for a family and if you want to disconnect. The team is extremely careful and nice, and the location is on a beautiful virgin beach where you can see different kinds of birds and fishes. The bungalows are really nice, decorated with good taste and convenient. We will definitely come back as soon as possible.

Both my partner and I not only enjoyed our 26 days there but became friends with the staff. Everyone e was very friendly, super helpful, multi talented with every aspect of the hotel. You didn't have to wait for anyone particular to help. They arranged for car rentals. Our heart felt thanks to the entire staff especially Vanessa, Paulina, Cesar, Ludo, Francesco, Mario and of course Donald Pinkney the General Manager for a wonder stay at a fantastic Adults only hotel with a exceptional & professional staff.

If you're looking for a luxurious and tranquil getaway in Puerto Escondido, the Samora Luxury Hotel is an excellent choice. The hotel boasts an amazing swimming pool that will take your breath away. The pool is large and inviting, with crystal clear water that is perfect for swimming or lounging in the sun. The staff is attentive and friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing stay. Whether you're lounging by the pool, enjoying a meal at the restaurant, or relaxing in your room, you'll feel right at home. Overall, I highly recommend the Samora Luxury Hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway in Puerto Escondido. The amazing swimming pool, calm atmosphere, and personal service make this hotel a standout choice.

LOVE this place, it’s fantastic. The bungalows are really nice and comfy, you kind of feel like you’re in the jungle, the bed is comfy, the pillows are comfy, I slept really well here, it’s clean, not sure how you’d navigate the open bathroom concept as a couple but it was fine for me, the main street and beach are only about a 5 minute walk away, you’re close to everything. Marcella is an absolute gem, she’s such a kind sweet hearted soul, we had some really nice chats, you feel as if you’ve known her forever. She is also on hand for any help or advice you need, I would definitely return.

Hotel is situated in the quieter end of Zipolite beach with a dedicated patio / sun tanning area. Our room on the second floor was large, clean, and comfortable (AC helped) and came with an inspiring view of the sea. Bed was large with crisp sheets. Shower, although with no hot water, was large with a constant supply of water (which can be a problem in Mexico). Breakfast was tasty. Hotel pool was a good size and most often empty. Staff at this family-run hotel were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return to this hotel again.

Oaxaca City is an absolute gem that captures the heart and...

Oaxaca City is an absolute gem that captures the heart and soul of Mexico. This enchanting destination offers a perfect blend of stunning colonial architecture, vibrant culture, and unforgettable experiences. The city's rich cultural heritage is evident everywhere you look—from the beautifully preserved historic center with its charming cobblestone streets to the magnificent churches and colorful buildings that line every corner. Walking through Oaxaca feels like stepping into a living museum where tradition and modern life coexist harmoniously. The food scene in Oaxaca is simply extraordinary. Known as Mexico's culinary capital, the city offers an incredible variety of authentic dishes. From the famous seven moles to tlayudas, memelas, and chapulines, every meal is an adventure. The local markets, especially Mercado Benito Juárez and Mercado 20 de Noviembre, are bursting with fresh ingredients, traditional foods, and the warmth of local vendors eager to share their culinary traditions. Don't miss trying the local mezcal—it's an essential part of the Oaxacan experience. The artesanías (handicrafts) are truly world-class. Oaxaca is renowned for its talented artisans who create beautiful textiles, intricate alebrijes (colorful wooden sculptures), black pottery, and woven goods. Whether you visit the markets or take day trips to artisan villages like Teotitlán del Valle or San Bartolo Coyotepec, you'll find unique, handmade treasures that reflect centuries of indigenous craftsmanship. Oaxaca City is a destination that feeds the soul. Its warmth extends beyond the climate to the genuinely friendly people who take pride in sharing their culture with visitors. Whether you're a food lover, art enthusiast, history buff, or simply seeking an authentic Mexican experience, Oaxaca will exceed your expectations. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a culturally rich and genuinely beautiful travel experience

I love Puerto Escondido and didn’t want to leave. It was so beautiful there. Lots of options for restaurants, shopping, etc. I like that it’s not super built up resort wise. Everyone was friendly and we felt safe. It was simply magical and I would love to make it home one day.

Well, I.from the cold blue north and live in Oaxaca much of the year. Zipollite, if you don't know, is a tiny hub of tranquillity and common sense, about and hour south of Puerto E. It is the only nude beach in Mexico which scares away the MAGA crowd, but basically anything considered weird in other places is overlooked here. You can smoke a little weed in the surf side cafes. You can start a conversation with anyone in almost any language. You are worshipped for the goddess inside you and the town is full of beautiful young men and women with a few locals sprinkled in. I hate it that the real estate prices have gone sky high, but you can still rent a basic apt for about 10,000 pesos per month. The food is excellent. The people are lovely. I'm an old straight college teacher from CAnada and I love the place.

Salina Cruz is a very peaceful place offering some beaches where surfing can be performed. It was a tiny seaport that grew up due to the oil refinery, not really recommended as a tourist destination by itself since there are limited facilities, with lot of eateries but very few good restaurants, one of them being Santa Julia inside the Misión de San José Hotel. Many secondary streets are in need of maintenance or not paved, although main avenues are in more or less good condition. Most of the traveling here has to do with oil or navy issues.

San Agustinillo is a quiet strip between Mazunte and Zipolite. It's lovely and peaceful, has some nice cafes and restaurants so you don't need to venture further if you don't want to. This is a beautiful area to discover a part of the outskirts Oaxaca and its culture. However, come prepared with a purpose of how you want to explore the area or be ready to enjoy the surroundings and relax. There is not much available in terms of resources to point you to things to do once you are here if you are just looking to show up in the area and explore. In that case, it is better to take a tour from Oaxaca city. I loved it and will come again to explore other parts for its beauty and micro culture.
