The rooms were so beautiful and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was so good! We wanted to stay here for 2 nights but ended up staying a week to relax and chill out, I loved it here! It's out of the centre of Tuxtla but everything you need is nearby: stores, mall, restaurants, colectivos, taxis,..

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment I set foot in La Estancia, it was clear that I had stumbled upon a true gem in San Cristobal. The property is very clean and can only be described as an oasis, a peaceful sanctuary amidst the bustling heart of the city. From its impeccable cleanliness to its super comfortable bed, La Estancia truly impresses. The service at La Estancia stands out. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and always ready to assist, consistently going the extra mile for guests. Location-wise, La Estancia is incredibly well-situated. It's a 3-minute walk from the vibrant pedestrian section, the lively town square, and countless trendy restaurants, this hotel ensures you're at the heart of everything San Cristobal has to offer. The hotel's restaurant is also a delightful experience for those passionate about good food. As someone who works remotely, the hotel's reliable and high-speed WiFi never failed and ensured seamless online work sessions. Lovers of culture and history will be excited to discover that both Santo Domingo Church and La Merced Church are just around the corner. Moreover, the closeness to Central Plaza & Park further enhances the appeal of staying here. If you're looking to venture a bit further, the hotel offers well-curated day trips to attractions in the vicinity. It's an opportunity you won't want to miss.

The location is fab, the hotel in the middle of the jungle, we saw (and heard :)! )some monkeys, parrots, agoutis… it was just nice to wonder around in the alleys. The rooms are little bungalows, a bit dated but very clean and with great showers, AC, comfortable beds (separated and unmovable though), hammock outside… All the staff was really nice and accommodating. The pool and the pool area are great, surrounded by massive beautiful trees. The food at the restaurant was correct but not amazing, they did great cocktails though! The place is 5min by car from the park’s entrance. We would definitely go back!

Posada Sancris exceeded our expectations in every way. It was beautiful, clean, very comfortable , stylish, quiet, homely, and the location was ideal. Ophelia was caring , kind and contientious and ready to meet every need. One of us happened to get very sick during our stay and ended up extending our stay by 5 nights here. The whole experience was bearable and so much easier by the fact we were staying in such a gorgeous place. We highly reccomend it here and are forever grateful for the support and comfort we experienced here ❤️

The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.

To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November!

To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November! The real problem, was Booking.com, when I choose One Way from Tux MX. to DFW, when I ticked proceed, Booking.com's AI toggled reserve to ROUND TRIP, But that did not show on "conformation" page, I just though the price was high! So leaving on date chosen, BUT, the 3:30pm was changed, by AI to 9:30AM same day, Or 6 hours AHEAD of original flight time! And to make that even more horrid: we are the get to the airport 3 hours ahead of, poofy 6:30 AM, I didn't the change of the total of 9 hours BEFORE. so my Cabby didn't know so WE BOTH MISSED THE FLIGHT, And I also found the AI double charging when I tried to book another ONE WAY, Tux to DWF, was $498.00, rather than half that! AND according to Booking.com new AI, I'd get to DWF, and hop right back on a plane, and return to Tux,MX 3 hours latter! Not this 75 year old man! So I be taking buses, that are not booked with Booking.Com's new AI! Booking.com did that same thing to my 72 year old sister, and their support couldn't FIX that double booking robbery, so I owe her for that AI robbery, also, making total loss, besides TIME, OVER $1000.00 USD! Since I didn't get my money back that I lost, of $1000.00 USD, I can't afford to book with Booking.com, any more, since their so-called support didn't return the overpayments, either!

Tapachula is a good overnight point for crossing the border with Guatemala at either Ciudad Hidalgo /Tecún Umán or Talisman /El Carmen. You can stock up on your favorite things before going to Guatemala where availability is scarce or imported goods cost a lot of money, but check first on import taxes or restrictions before buying stuff to take into Guatemala. There are a lot of supermarkets, Home Depot, Auto Zone, Walmart, Starbucks, lots of restaurants of all types and for all budgets. Downtown is lively, but traffic can be bad, airport outside of town has flies to many locations in Mexico.

This city is beautiful and great for walking. The sidewalks are not as difficult to navigate as in some other cities, but you still need to be careful and have grippy shoes for when it rains. The weather was lovely and cool; a nice break for us Texans in the month of June. We didn’t have nearly enough time here and we hope to return and explore more!

Two nights is sufficient to go on a trip. Industrial city nothing to see. Good Uber service to use for the trip to Sumidero canyon you don’t have to pay tour operators. Stay in newer Hilton on the Main Street. You can safely eat the cut fruits from the vendors on the street or the square. Crisp in a bag and they pour hot sauce on top, delicious. I had rice drink with cinnamon and it tasted of rice pudding. I wouldn’t go again if I had a choice I would go to Palenque.
