Stone Hotel in the Maldives exceeded every expectation. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was world-class – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The diving and snorkeling were absolutely breathtaking, with vibrant reefs and incredible marine life. Excursions were perfectly planned and full of unforgettable moments. The rooms were pure luxury – stylish, serene, and always offering stunning views.

KenyaThe location of the accommodation is close to the beach. We walked for 2minutes and we were at the crystal clear waters of Thulusdhoo.
The attendant Harry was the best. He was at the port to receive us and on the day of leaving he made sure he saw us off at the same port. He also was ready to help us locate good eateries, he was simply the best friend we had in thulusdhoo.
The accommodation is near the mosque, I was able to hear adhan from my room and was able to attend magrib congregation prayers. Locals were very welcoming.
Excursions organised by Harry were very affordable too.

Especially the house manager Sanjay treat us like family，he helped us alot. The house view are very perfect as well, our balcony face the sea view, I even can saw dophins jumping in the sea. Our Maldives experience was wonderful! We had a grand water villa with a beautiful terrace, with corals and fishes at 10m going down to the sea from the terrace. The views were magnificent. The hotel spreads on 3 islands (we were on the second one, Dream - very good) with different pools, bars and activity areas, some reserved only to adults which was definitely a plus for when we wanted some peaceful and romantic time. There are plenty of restaurants that you can try (our favorite was the thai place). You need to book in advance but as we were half board and exploring restaurants for lunch and not for diner, we always found a spot while booking the day before through the app. The massage we got was amazing. Food and service at the buffet are of great quality. Water is free and available in all bars and restaurants, which we appreciated a lot (no water bottles floating around). The last island is is only for adults and is like another branch: you need a different app and you can't participate to the sport activities organized there. However, the sport activities organized by Kristina on the main island and dream were great to stay in shape during the holidays. There is an electric bus doing the back and forth between islands (take it from the start or it can be full). The snorkeling experience around the hotel and in the excursions (3 points snorkeling for us) was amazing: colorful fishes, sharks, turtles, rays, etc. The room is very large, comfortable and clean with a formidable room boy called Noor who was always smiling, attentive and preparing some decorations in the room. He was discreet and coming twice a day to the room when convenient for us. To note that when arriving at the airport, you are waiting for the boat in the food court where there are not always space to seat as all hotels use the same approach: after a long trip, this is not the favorite part but we only waited 30 to 45 min to get a boat.

A truly exceptional resort! From the facilities to service, to amenities, food, location...everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing and everyone was happy to go above and beyond to offer anything to the guest. From the moment we landed since the time we were dropped at the airport for departure, the staff was there to guide us, answer all our questions, and take care of any kind of need and special requests. These people are excellent professionals and deserve recognition for their efforts! Special shoutout to Dilhara on the north buffet, he was such a good dude. The overwater jacuzzi villa was perfect for us, spacious, comfortable, clean, and extremely well-equipped. The attention to detail was on point. I loved the semi-open shower so much. The sea decks too! Now for the island...the word paradise is an understatement!! The environment there was far beyond anything that we could ever imagine. The crystal clear waters, white sand, lush vegetation, coconut trees...DREAM!! Resort facilities were also amazing. Pools, Gym, Outdoor sports, game rooms...oh, and the SPA: This experience was by far the best in our lives. We booked a mix of Balinese, Thai & a 3rd style that I cannot remember and it was out of this world. 60 minutes of pure relaxation and enjoyment. The ladies at Duniye Overwater Spa were exceptional! 10/10 experience do not miss out on this one.

Our stay at Embudu Village Resort was absolutely perfect! Everything was exactly as arranged before: they picked us up in Malé on time and transferred us smoothly by boat. We stayed for 7 days with full board, which was more than enough — delicious food with many options, much better than expected!
We were a bit worried we might get bored, but the island offers plenty of affordable activities like snorkeling (the marine life is incredible!), night fishing (and they cook your catch the next day), and more.
The island, rooms, and all areas were spotlessly clean at all times. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Every day, we received 1 liter of water per person in the room; we also brought some extra water, so we didn’t need to buy more, as full board covers drinks only at breakfast (tea/coffee).
The only small downside was the Wi-Fi coverage, which was quite poor — but honestly, it didn’t disturb us at all, as we spent most of our time enjoying the island and only checked our phones briefly at night.
It was truly an amazing, relaxing experience — highly recommended!

Wonderful experience staying here. The pickup from the airport, the boat transfer, the check in at 11:30pm at night all was great. The Ocean front villa was beautiful, well kept. The snorkelling just off the back door with alot of fish around and the water so clear and pristine. The brekky buffet spread was huge and everything was great quality. The Cafe and restaurants were great. The staff are so welcoming friendly and warm and well trained. Make you feel tended to. The Dolphin tour was well organised and the boys on the boat were so helpful and accommodating and we were able to see Dolphins. The Shark/Sandbar/Reef tour was amazing too, with the Watersports boys friendly, helpful and ever so accommodating. The small things such as scented towels, the custom flip flops and a letter/reminder the night before check out to fill in the online departure form, allowing a free boat ride to the airport again the next day to pickup family. Overall a blissful 5 Star vacation !!! We didn't feel like leaving !!!

This place is absolutely amazing! After a short boat ride from Male airport, you arrive in what feels like paradise. We stayed in a beachfront villa with a private pool. The villa was perfect—just steps from the beach, with stunning ocean views and the soothing sound of the waves. The island itself is encircled by pristine beaches with soft, white sand and crystal-clear waters that are simply breathtaking. The food here is exceptional, offering a variety of flavors that cater to every palate. And the staff? They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and at home. Their warmth and attentiveness truly elevate the experience, making this island getaway unforgettable. I don’t usually write reviews, but after staying at this resort, I just can’t help myself. Thank you for fast and smooth boat transfer, did’t have to wait at Male airport. Also thank you for early check-in so we could enjoy the holiday as soon as possible (this is the thing that is not usually available in hotels).
We got villa 181 with beautiful sand beach and view with sea and palms. Not windy, calm & clear water.
The island has about 15 beaches, explored them all by bicycle or walk. The beaches were really beautiful.
Delicious food at breakfast and Rhabarbaro restaurant for dinner. Especially like breakfast buffet with choice of a la carte menu.

Apart from the location, I particularly liked how seamless and easy the checkin procedure was. The hotel allowed us to check in at close to 7 am, in fact they suggested it. This was really nice after an overnight flight. We didn’t have to complete forms or spend time at reception. The island has its own reef, and it’s a haven for snorkeling enthusiasts. Overall, staff are wonderful and trying their best to anticipate every need (special thanks to Reema who looked after us so well, and to Giyas from the Diving Centre for the unforgettable memories at sea.)

We came back to Velassaru after 10 years and our time there was sensational. What really stands out is the natural beaty of the island. During our stay, we have seen dolphins, manta rays, sea turtles and sharks. Furthermore, the hotel staff is incredibly friendly and competent. Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced.
One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. You can book trips easily, there’s stuff to do, and it doesn’t feel restrictive.

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there.
Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.

We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!

I absolutely loved my time in Thulusdhoo - my first time in...
I absolutely loved my time in Thulusdhoo - my first time in the Maldives! I feel I picked a fabulous island to spend 4 days of relaxation and calmness following a busy elective healthcare placement.
The island was so beautiful and peaceful. The beaches were so clean, white sands, the water was crystal clear, all sun-loungers free to use and very friendly locals and business owner stalls, businesses, and restaurants. A couple I met whilst away also got engaged on sunset beach with the most beautiful backdrop (a real must to visit during the evenings)!
Plenty of places to choose from to eat - from beach bars to evening dining. I went to Juice Bench every day for lunch, the staff were so kind and smiley and the food was delicious and fresh. I also ate dinner at Indulge (10/10 pizza!), Cafe Bandaha for dinner, amazing tikka masala curry and the freshest apple juice! (Breakfast was included in my hotel - Eden Blue - which I also highly recommend!).
I took two excursions with Baani Watersports - first the reef shark and stingray trip, which was absolutely amazing! The second trip was the sandbank and turtles trip, again - amazing! The team were very friendly, fun, and ensured we were looked after throughout. They took fabulous photo's of us all on their gopro which they sent to us afterwards free of charge. I also found their pricing very competitive!
Getting around the island is easy peasy. I walked every day, it is quite small so can be easily lapped in around 45 minutes of strolling. People were also using mopeds and bicycles. I also received a complementary shuttle service from the ferry port to my accommodation and back which was a very welcomed bonus.
Overall, the island is wonderful, the people are so lovely, and I'm SO glad I picked this island to spend my 4 days! I hope to be back one day soon - perhaps with someone next time so I have a companion in the evenings when it's a little quieter!

We booked a family room, and starting from the booking until reaching the Airport to go back home, Aqua Sunset was there for us; just like a family. They prepared all of our meals for us, not to forget to mention the beautiful walkway to the beach was right outside the guest dining area. So we all enjoyed the walk along the coastline, to the bikini beach together, after our meals. The end of the Marina is also right outside the dining area; where they feed the marine life & was also fun to watch with the family, after dinner. We had a super experience, too, with Aqua Sunset’s excursion management team. We booked a half-day family excursion, to swim with the turtles together, and it was so amazing! They even gave us a video of all of us together with the turtles. We all recommend Aqua Sunset because it’s budget/family friendly, the location is perfect, and because everyone made us feel welcomed. Enjoy!

Guraidhoo - ferry every day and easy to reach from Male, not so busy yet, not yet ugly concrete big buildings, bikini beach is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. White soft sand with turquoise warm water and sandy shore for fantastic swimming and walking on the sandbar - great for kids too, sunbeds and good cafe on the beach, there are corals and ship wreck for snorkeling and not to forget the shark feeding place - simply amazing to watch sharks and rays - great entertainment for the evening. There are great restaurants with fantastic prices. This island is amazing choice !

It was a lovely island friendly people & I think I stayed in the best place for me on this island my host were fantastic, they could not of done more to make my stay any better than it already was 10/10 perfect 😍
I loved all the food I had @ Indian cafe,loved swimming @ the local beach, not bikini beach
One thing I really disliked was Moscow yeda they tried to double charge me on my credit card when I asked them about 6 of them just started laughing, eventually I got my money back & that was the only bad experience on the whole island.
