- From $475.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 253 reviewsThis hotel really surpassed my expectations! Every member of staff was so polite and friendly and most even knew my name and room number. Dinner and breakfast was from a set menu, unlike the buffet meals I had experienced at other hotels. The food was unbelievable (especially the beef tenderloin) and was a beautiful candlelit meal by the sea. I arrived late, after lunch had been served, and there was no food but the chefs were so kind enough to make something just for me The infinity pool overlooking the beach was beautiful and the beach is more private and quieter here making it my preference over the nearby flic en flac beach. A fantastic experience, would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday by the sea! Thank you to all here for making my stay so memorableGuest review byShannonUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 404 reviewsVery natural and serene location. Green, charming and eye catching. Convenient and stylish lodges, open air shower and pools. Kept closed to residents only, so feels like you almost on your own there. Great view at sunset from the bar atop the hill. Staff are best from what you could expect. A-la-carte menu and wine list in the main restaurant is fairly good and actually one could spend a few days without leaving the premises (we stayed for 2 nights). All-in-all makes your stay memorable and we will stay here again for a part of our journey next year.Guest review byAlexeiRussia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 759 reviewsThe best part for me was definitely the beatiful picture-perfect palm-fringed beach with Le Morne (and other mountains) as a backdrop AND the lush hotel gardens. Absolutely stunning! * Clean and comfortable room with a mini bar that was refilled daily. Also, thanks to Wahida for making our room look amazing every day! * Good food with a great variety *Gorgeous beach, many free water-sport activities, I really enjoyed the paddle-board * Friendly and attentive staffGuest review byMartinaSlovakia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 769 reviewsA beautiful resort. Very lively! Every day there was something different going on. Most of the staff are flexible and will go out of their way to help! Even when faced with a minor issue here or there it is handled perfectly and that’s the most important part! The beach is beautiful, the dinner buffet variety was impressive! Stayed for 5 nights and it was a different cuisine/theme every night! With live cooking stations and something for everyone.Guest review byDin AmyUnited Arab Emirates
- From $732.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 150 reviewsTop standard hotel and resort. Spacious, well designed and perfectly equipped villas. Relatively good privacy. If not for the common inner court areas privacy would rank at top. Great service, adequate to a price. True variety in restaurants, they are totally not alike as in some resorts. Beach is not top notch for sea swimmers, but that is a general thing at Mauritius. Still good for sport and jogging. Overall expensive but is worth it.Guest review byAlexeiRussia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 904 reviewsSimply amazing. Special tks to Joël (concierge) for the more than welcome reception as well as for coordinating tours. Have dinner at Umami and Dina are a must do. At Umami, delicious Omakase menu. At Dina, Selvem (waiter) was super friendly with super service provided. Paco (waiter) at pool area super attentive to us. In a nutshell, amazing people running the biz. Spectacular landscape.Guest review byStephanSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 458 reviewsUnique and stunning accommodation. We wanted to stay somewhere more interesting than one of the massive Mauritian chain hotels and this place blew us away. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL- farm fresh and delivered to your private cottage. We made a lovely fire at our cottage and watched the sun set. Also incredibly convenient location to the Charmel waterfall and ebony forest and Le Morne.Guest review byEleanorUnited States

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 10.0

lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony ForestGuest review byCelia ColemanSouth Africa - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
