From the soft music when entering the suite to manicured gardens- it was simply a pleasure! Mini bar prices are absolutely fair and the wlan was fast. The Chef of the restaurant prepared an excellent lobster for us upon request (surcharge but worth it) and one can preorder a seafood platter- for future guests to know.

Our taxi driver told us about Aanari and they were kind enough to accommodate us at the very last moment and made us feel so comfortable. A great guy, Nathan who is an employee at Aanari Hotel was kind enough to navigate us through the country! Bonus points just because Flic en Flac Beach is just opposite the road with many food outlets and ATM's plus the bar at night is such a vibe.

We spent our honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Mauritius. To put it all into one sentence: we could not have made a better choice and are soo happy and thankful for the amazing experience we had there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great variety and perfect quality of the food, the fantastic location at the beautiful paradise-like beach, the furnishing and amenities of the room, the beautiful sea view…
What we were especially pleased with is that we did not book the special honeymoon package on the hotel’s website. We only told the reception about our special occasion a few weeks prior to our arrival via the chat. Nevertheless we received all the wonderful special gifts that come with the honeymoon package. Our stay at Hotel La Mariposa was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, who made us feel at home right away.
The hotel’s territory is breathtaking—beautifully maintained, lush, and peaceful, creating the perfect tropical escape. The beach was cozy and intimate, with soft sand and a mesmerizing view of the clear, blue ocean. Waking up to such a paradise every day was truly a dream come true.

The LUX* hotel left a remarkable first impression with their warm welcome. The room was superb, providing both comfort and elegance. The food options were exceptional and diverse, accompanied by kind and attentive service. The beach strip was spacious and sprawling, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the picturesque views. It was a relief to have reliable WiFi access throughout the property, making it easy to stay connected. It's clear that LUX* hotel is one of the top hotels in Mauritius. In addition, Garish from the nurse's room provided exceptional service when we were in need, even saving our vacation. Overall, our stay at the LUX* hotel was truly outstanding.

The hotel is beautifully situated in a green park, with direct access to the wonderful beach. The food in all restaurants was delicious, there were also enough vegetarian options. What we especially appreciated was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. There are numerous water sport options included, like kayaking, sailing, snorkelling, etc. We will definitely come again!

It is difficult to mention everything. It is such a beautiful and tranquil place perfect for a relaxing stay. The resort has good facilities, clean rooms, nice swimming pool and amazing SPA. We also enjoyed excellent breakfasts and wide selection of food for dinners. The most important thing is super friendly and helpful staff. We couldn't ask for more. Wonderful stay!!!

Amazing breakfast and food. But the setting is the best of all. So green and lusious and such wonderful views from some villas. The walk to Pinot Cannot is amazing, takes 1 hour and the views from there are even better (with good hiking shoes). the walk starts right at the property.

Nice beach , lots of trips available . You really need a car or book trips if your staying any length of time as nothing much else to do . No nightlife during the week only Friday and Saturday otherwise everywhere shuts at 10pm

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots.
There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets.
Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket
Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people.
You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get around

Lovely resort. Great beach. Gets very crowded at weekends. The beach is not quite as good as some of the beaches in the north, but it is still beautiful.
Quite upseting to see the amount of litter left on the beach and traffic around the resort was sometimes an issue. But the location is great and the western sunsets are stunning!
Our favourire restaurant was Mosaic, serving typical Mauritian food alongside a standard menu with burgers, pizzas and pasta with friendly service from Daniel and team.
Casela Safari Park nearby is a good day out, and a day trip to the east to visit Iles aux Cerfs was a highlight of our stay.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
