- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 493 reviewsOur stay at Anjiamarango was extraordinary due to the warm and great hospitality we experienced from the owner Philippe. We had a problem with our flight and he helped us fixing it spending hours on daily basis on it. We never experienced such kindness from a hotelier before anywhere on earth. Without his help we would have been stuck on the island. Besides that, the bungalows give you the chance to experience a traditional Malagasy way of living in the pure nature including some visitors like frogs and lizards. We were there at the beginning of the rain season and were able to experience heavy rainfalls during the night, those sounds were remarkable! The restaurant offers highly qualitative and tasty dishes and the chef is trying to personalize the service wherever possible by collecting your lunch or dinner wishes beforehand so that you don’t have to wait too long for your meal. The price performance ratio is also fantastic. The pool gives you a gorgeous view on the ocean and beach, which invites you for long walks. Phillipe is offering lots of activities such as canoeing, mountain biking (free of charge) and excursions to e.g. Nosy Iranja, National Park or whale watching which are highly recommendable. The staff was very attentive and friendly with a high service level coming close to a real 5 star hotel service. Me myself working at known international hotel brands can evaluate this on a high level. The location of the resort and reaching it is so adventurous and impressive as well. Twice a week there is live entertainment with local bands and singers which allows you to take a dive into the local culture. All in all, we can truly recommend Philippe’s lovely resort and we will come back one day bringing friends and family as well to this little paradise. Thank you so much for everything Philippe and regards from cold Germany, Fabi and Nina :)Guest review byFabianGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 64 reviewsThe place is amazing. Feb 2023 was the second time we went to Constance Tsarabanjina and we absolutely loved it - we stayed 7 nights at a North Beach Villa, all inclusive and were lucky to have great weather even though Feb is supposed to be part of the rainy season. We travelled London Heathrow - Addis Ababa Ethiopia - Nosy Be Madagascar. The hotel arranged for a guide to wait for us at the Nosy Be Airport and took us to the beach where the hotel's boat waited to take us from Nosy Be Island to Tsarabanjina Island (the boat fare is about 1 hour and needs to be paid separately - at the time we went it was 200 euros per person covering both ways). Tsarabanjina is a tiny island with only one hotel, Constance, which has about 24 beach villas (about 12 on North Beach and 12 on South Beach), so even if it were to be fully booked, it would still be quite and relaxing. The atmosphere is so chilled and everybody is trying to make your stay as nice as possible. Staff is friendly and nothing is too much trouble; food is great as nothing compares with the fresh fish and other sea food; beach villa is large, nicely furnished and decorated with amazing views. The hotel offers a range of activities, some included in the price of the stay and some others to be paid separately (but none being too expansive). Activities / facilities included in the price are one snorkelling trip, one boat trip at the sunset with cocktail or fizzy wine, access to their snorkelling equipment, canoe boats, paddle boards, other sports and games; activities at extra price include diving (there is a Diving Centre at the hotel where one can get PADI certified if interested), trip to Nosy Mitsion island, trip to Nosy Kumba island, fishing trip, snorkelling extravaganza trip, massage / SPA, breakfast and / or dinner on the beach.Guest review byGeorgiana Elena89United Kingdom
- From US$159.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 210 reviewsWe had a great time at Le Grand Bleu. The owners, Jaqués and Celine, are very kind and communicative. All the staff, servers, guards, and drivers were very nice and friendly. The food is very good. Overall, this place has amazing value. We would definitely stay here again. We did 3 tours organized by the hotel (Nosy Iranja, Nosy Sakatia and canoeing to Leboke park). Extra notes - The bedrooms are comfortable but not luxurious. Everything was very clean. - The water pressure and water temperature are nice for showering - The view is amazing. You will immediately feel relaxed upon arriving - It is located in a very safe part of the island - They prefer you pay in cash as opposed to credit card. The closest ATM is at the airport 45 minutes away by taxi, so make sure you have more than enough cash at the beginning - It is common to see lizards and cockroaches in the rooms (but hey, it’s Africa so what do you expect?!) - If you speak French you are fine, but if not the communication can be a struggle and awkward at times - Make sure you have enough cash to tip your servers, guides and drivers - Tuktuks are a very common form of transportation. Take one to have some fun!Guest review byvikyurianCanada
- From US$67.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 275 reviewsWe had two different rooms because we extended our stay. The first (#5) was close to the pool and better / more private than the second one (#6). The hotel is set 200 meters back from the beach which we liked but some might prefer to be right on the beach. When you get to the beach you are at the far end of the busy part of the beach. Turn left and there's a gorgeous stretch of almost totally deserted soft white sand with warm crystal clear water. Turn right and it's the same beach, but it gets gradually busier, and soon you get to the village of Ramena where you'll find dozens of small restaurants serving excellent seafood. The hotel also has a small swimming pool which is nice for cooling off. It's easy to arrange excursions from there. We went to the Montagne des Francais - it's well worth the effort to climb to the summit where you have a stunning 360 degree view of the bay. You can also walk to Baie des Dunes and Baie des Pigeons - it's a hot sweaty walk but totally doable. However, despite all the fuss about the Trois Baies, the beach at Orangea which is just around the headland from Ramena has got to be one of the nicest beaches in the world.Guest review byGordonCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 128 reviewsA family run hotel in the prime spot in Ambatolaka. Close to the beach local bars and shops. A nice clean room and balcony overlooking a lush botanical garden created by Benjamin to show some of the beautiful and exotic plants of madagascar. Benjamin the owner is very kind and likes to spread awareness of madagascara ecology. Tina, the manager, is an absolute star. Her local knowledge is priceless, and she helped me so much with everything from trips to food to what prices are. Everything I needed, she helped every step of the way. Perfect for a lone woman traveller to have this angel helping and supporting!!Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom

You can just walk down to the beach and swim there or you can also enjoy the two pools availables. We really enjoyed our time here. There is also a restaurant with great food and great options for breakfast. The staff was very nice and took great care of us I highly recommend this place and it is quite cheap if you are sharing a bungalow :)Guest review byRinaIreland

Great diving and excursions but don’t stay at Hotel Ocean...
Great diving and excursions but don’t stay at Hotel Ocean Beach, Nosy Sakatia as they pressurise you do excursions upon arrival, pay for food in advance (then deny it it), swimming pool quarter full of brown water full of mosquitos next to accommodation with mosquito nets with holes in it. Our family left within the hour back to Nosy Be staying at Ravintsara Wellness Hotel which was so friendly and welcoming .Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 8.0
We enjoyed this laid-back town.
We enjoyed this laid-back town. Not much traffic except tuk tuks. There isn't much to do in town but it is an easy place to walk around with some old colonial buildings to admire. A few have been restored but lots more could do with some TLC. There are lots of women selling trinkets and fruit but very low key. Locals were very friendly. Many people do day trips from Diego but I would recommend overnighting nearer to those places (Montagne D'Ambre and Tsingy Rouge). I expect it would be a nightmare to be in Diego Suarez when a cruise ship is in town but that didn't happen when we were there.Guest review byGordonCanada - 8.0
Nosy Be is frequented by mainly tourist flights from Italy.
Nosy Be is frequented by mainly tourist flights from Italy. therefore French and Italian are widely spoken. There are multiple accommodation options facing onto the beach, all of which defend the sun loungers from hawkers to limit hassle. There are plenty of other restaurants as well to choose from, all a safe walk down the beach at night. Don’t forget your torch though.Guest review byCharlesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We were 5 days in Nosy Be. I would change that to 3-4 days.
We were 5 days in Nosy Be. I would change that to 3-4 days. Nosy Be itself is not that nice. Can't really walk around and one has to take a tuk tuk everywhere. The beaches on Nosy Be are not that nice (I have very high standards). What is SUPER AMAZING is the two islands off of Nosy Be, Nosy Iranja and Nosy Tanikely (a national park). It's rather expensive to get to these islands, but they are definitely what the highlights are in this area.Guest review byLindaUnited States
