Beautiful boutique hotel. Situated on top of the highest point in Antananarivo with beautiful views of the city below. Feels like a small oasis in a busy city. Wonderful staff and a amazing restaurant too. The rooms were authentically decorated and beds were very comfortable. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!

This is a great hotel. The room was so clean! No bugs or anything! The bathroom was huge, with a massive, luxuriously hot shower. The hotel itself is in a great location to give you an authentic glimpse into what Tana life is like as well as being within walking distance to lots of the sites of the city. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and kind. They speak very good English as well as French and Malagasy. The restaurant is also top quality! Offering a range of delicious traditional Malagasy meals in large portions as well as more western food. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a safe, clean, friendly, helpful, affordable hotel in Antananarivo.

La Ribaudière is always so amazing! This is my third time over the last 7 years to visit Madagascar and stay in La Ribaudière. The staff is always very helpful, the food is always very good and the price is always right. Americans visiting Antananarivo, this is a must! The Hôtel arranged a transfer from the airport, who was waiting for us. Easy check in. Large rooms, spotless clean. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of choice. Pool really great for relaxing after sightseeing. Snacks and drinks delivered to the pool area. All the staff were really helpful. Fantastic location. I would highly recommend

Tana has certainly nice area’s, but the center is very crowded and dirty. Not the prettiest place we have been, although the Kings palace (north of Tana), queens palace, marche artisanal de la digue are worth visiting. We did not spent a lot of time in Tana, it was the beginning and end of our trip west and back with rental 4 wheel drive. Maybe next time …

Not many bars/restaurants to choose among.

Not many bars/restaurants to choose among. Some roads are not even asphalted yet. Most of properties look like prisons due to the barbed wire on the walls of houses. You are about 50 minutes driving far from the city centre, but close to Croc farm, worth a visit.

I spent two days in Tana.

I spent two days in Tana. The first day, I rested in my room, by the pool, got a massage and relaxed on the balcony at sunset. Then I chatted with the friendly staff at the bar until bedtime. On day two, I had a very good guide and driver who took me around the city. I'm so glad we visited the markets, and the Queen's Palace!
