Our stay at this hotel was truly amazing. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, which made a great first impression. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a stunning view from the balcony. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the lovely pool and the delicious breakfasts served each morning. The location was ideal — just a short walk to the old town and the city center, yet in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We would definitely recommend this place!

The bed is still world-class, and the bed lining is unmatched. Albeit some patterns may be outdated, we were entirely convinced by the room once more. Many Montenegrin hotels can continue admiring the pioneer of congress tourism. It is crystal clear why almost every renowned event in Montenegro takes place in Hotel Splendid. In the field of event organising, the hotel is still head and shoulders above the competition, and its functionality and spaciousness are unmatched. The legendary lobby has seen countless world-renowned figures. Thus arises the question: where does Hotel Splendid place? The answer is very high. Excellent pools with a fabulous view. Despite the high season the pool never felt crowded, due to smart land design. Hotel gives fashionable and luxury vibes. The staff is professional on another level!Everything is thoroughly thought through. Attention to details and customer obsession in everything. I felt valued from the moment we went in and until we left. Our stay in the hotel was not planned. We had to wait to medical flight back home. The staff were helping us with reservations for three nights in advance every time without obligation. Delicious breakfast. Many alternatives and everything is fresh and tasty. Beautiful sitting area on the boardwalk. Best location in Porto Montenegro.

Really liked the small old town in Budva.

Really liked the small old town in Budva. It doesn't get too many tourists ( like Kotor) so is less crowded and more tranquil. I didn't like the fact you had to pay to walk along a part of the walled town. There are lots of small food places there (selling pizza, sandwiches, byreks, cakes), which is great and absent in lots of these type of places.

Old Town Kotor is beautiful. It is small and very walkable. My husband and I did not walk up the 1000+ steps to the monastery, but others in our group did and said it was amazing. Kotor Bay is stunning! The waters are so blue and the mountains surrounding this entire are breathtaking. It was the perfect location for a destination wedding! (Our daughter was married in St. Tryphon's Cathedral! It was absolutely fairytale perfect!)

I recently spent a few days in Tivat, Montenegro, and honestly, I was surprised by how much I fell in love with this little coastal town. It’s small, calm, and effortlessly beautiful — the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you but still totally does. The first thing that caught my eye was Porto Montenegro. It’s stunning — full of fancy yachts, chic restaurants, and designer shops, but somehow it doesn’t feel pretentious. I loved walking along the marina in the evenings, gelato in hand, watching the sun dip behind the mountains. It’s glamorous, sure, but also relaxed in that easy Mediterranean way. One of my favorite days was spent at Plavi Horizonti Beach. The water there is ridiculously clear, and it’s shallow enough to just float around for hours. I also took a quick hike up Vrmac Hill, which gave me the most incredible views over the Bay of Kotor — definitely worth the effort! What I really appreciated about Tivat was the balance. You can have a fancy dinner overlooking the marina one night, and the next, enjoy a quiet meal at a local restaurant where the seafood tastes like it came straight from the ocean (because it probably did). Agape (in Porto) was my absolute favourite. 1000/10. Tivat might not be as famous as Kotor or Budva, but that’s part of its charm. It feels peaceful, safe, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, soak up some sun, and enjoy good food with even better views, Tivat is absolutely worth adding to your travel list.

I visited both Tivat and Kotor, but the Herceg Novi area is definitely the best place to stay around the Bay of Kotor: the most beautiful, cleanest, calmest, nicest vibe, better price level (e.g. accommodation, restaurants, etc.).

I'm afraid my impression of Bar was that it was industrial, a bit ugly and not very well looked after.(Sorry Bar, maybe I didn't go to the right places!) Wanting to visit places that are not yet wholly given over to tourism, is a two edged sword; it means that the 'pretty views' are often obscured by something utilitarian and not pretty! I took a taxi boat to Sutomore beach, which was a lovely trip and incredibly good value. The beach and water was fabulous but I think every person in the whole of Montenegro had had the same idea and the beach was extremely crowded. My reason for visiting Bar was to do the train journey from Bar to Belgrade, which I had read was one of the most beautiful in Europe. It did not disappoint and made me forgive Bar everything!

Ulcinj beach area is for the most part quite dirty and littered. There are people prepared to scam you readily. We did like the fortress area and found a cleaner beach near there (Liman Beach) that we quite liked.

Perast is a magical place, almost removed from time. The situation on the waterside surrounded in all sides by mountains is breathtaking. The walk along the promenade each evening is a rare pleasure. There are plentiful good restaurants inside Perast itself as well as local oyster and mussels farms a short walk from the town, that serve delicious food. The boat trip to the island and the Blue Cave is also well worth doing.

Taxi from Tivat airport is around €55–60 and takes about 40 minutes. For food, we often bought frozen homemade dishes from a Ukrainian shop in Budva, which were really tasty.

Overall, a great place, every recommendation for the hotel.

Overall, a great place, every recommendation for the hotel. Great stuff, great food. Beautiful place, a lot of attention paid to nature. I was particularly impressed by the olive trees in the yard, and the attention paid to their preservation.
