We do not need any mosquito repellent in the property which is a big contrast in other boutique hotels/guesthouses in nearby area where we dined. The room is clean, spacious, simple yet stylist. Must join safari through the guesthouse, their connected driver is super professional and always took the best spots amongst all jeeps! Also very nice breakfast. We love everything from il Frangipane!

It felt like they had thought of everything from live music, magicians, music in the bathrooms and such a beautiful setting in the forest/jungle. The monkeys are so fun to watch especially the ones with the black faces. Yes this hotel is on the higher price point but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and attention from the many staff. Everything can be arranged by the reception with many experiences or a tuk tuk if you need to go to Dambulla. The buffet dinner is amazing with so much to choose from and of high quality and the buffet breakfast is delicious also.

Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, nestled in the breathtaking outback of Sri Lanka, close to Dambulla. It exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene, eco-friendly surroundings 🌿. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is truly admirable, with lush gardens where they grow their own plants and vegetables, creating a beautiful and natural atmosphere 🌱.
Our room was super scenic, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making every morning and evening a delight 🌄. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The ambiance throughout the hotel was incredibly peaceful, making it easy to leave the stresses of everyday life behind 😌.
The food was another highlight of our stay. The dishes were not only delicious but also fresh and full of flavor, undoubtedly thanks to the hotel’s own garden 🥗. Dining here was a true pleasure, with every meal showcasing the care and quality put into the ingredients.
One of the most magical experiences we had was seeing fireflies at night, a sight that added an extra touch of enchantment to our stay ✨.
The staff at the hotel were equally impressive. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile 😊. Their dedication to making our stay enjoyable was evident in everything they did.

Our stay at this hotel was an excellent experience. The service was incredibly friendly and warm-hearted, making us feel welcome from the very beginning. A special mention goes to Hashani at the reception, whose service really stood out, though the rest of the staff were also lovely and accommodating.
Our room was clean and spacious, with a unique touch—a beautiful outdoor shower creatively integrated into the space. We were especially grateful for the unexpected room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise and made our stay even more memorable.
The buffet was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, making dining at the hotel a delight.
The location was good, especially when traveling with a driver. It made it easy to explore the surrounding areas without any hassle.
Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we left with great memories. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and hope to visit again in the future!

The hotel Heritage in Anuradhapura was located in a very calm and serine environment facing the lake. The hotel premises was well maintained. The friendly service rendered by the hotel staff was beyond our expectations. Our room was clean tidy and spacious. Foods were very fresh and delicious. Mr.Hemantha, the FMB manager welcomed us to the restaurant in a great manner. The way he handled the restaurant staff in order to provide an effective service to the guests was admirable. The CEO, Mr.Sumith Wijesinghe was very friendly and supportive. We witnessed how he personally paid attention to guests by going round tables during meal times and speaking to them very cheerfully. Music at the lake side dinner was amazing. Highly appreciate the efficient service rendered by the hotel under the guidance and supervision of Mr.Wijesinghe. Highly recommend the Hotel Heritage. Hope to stay there again in our next visit to Anuradhapura.

A stunning location and a resort with a unique feel to it. We loved that the rooms are all tucked away among rice paddies, lily ponds, or open out onto the water body that teems with bird life, fish, and some crocs. We appreciated the nature-conscious philosophy of the hotel and their efforts to respect the wildlife of the area. The evening dining is very good, the rooms beautiful, spacious, and tasteful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The heat is quite something so we really recommend the rooms with small plunge pools.

This was by far the best service we received in our 5 weeks in SL. The staff at Amaya are superbly trained- friendly, discreet, helpful.
The manager was so incredibly kind and warm and during many of the very good meals; staff came up to us to ask us how we are.
A sunset boat trip was arranged for us on the lake- it was nothing short of spectacular.

It’s a lovely place. Rooms are big and comfortable, staff is really friendly and eager to help. Both Ala’carte and normal food were fine. Locationwise its close to Sigiriya and Hurulu Eco Park. This is the first hotel we booked in Sri Lanka for our honeymoon and we are extremely delighted that we booked this place :)

Great hotel, right next to the temple of tooth relic and in city center. I truly don’t understand negative reviews, for this price, room is clean, designed in old fashion way but that’s the charm, food was amazing too.
Definitely would recommend for staying in Kandy.

Kandy is a beautiful town with so much to see and do.
Kandy is a beautiful town with so much to see and do. It’s the perfect central base for exploring nearby highlights like Nuwara Eliya and other major sightseeing spots. The famous Kandy–Ella train ride is a wonderful experience with stunning views. Kandy Lake is lovely for an evening walk, and the local markets — especially the Sunday market — are absolutely worth visiting. The Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth) is a must-see; try to go in the evening when it’s cooler and the atmosphere is even more peaceful. Overall, Kandy is a charming town that offers culture, scenery, and convenience all in one.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory.
After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Exceptional Stay at Hotel Golden Ray!
My experience at Hotel Golden Ray was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect space to relax after exploring Dambulla.
The hotel’s atmosphere is peaceful and charming, with a great balance between modern comfort and natural surroundings. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the service.
I highly recommend Hotel Golden Ray to anyone visiting Dambulla — it’s a perfect place for both leisure and business stays. I’ll definitely return on my next visit! 🌿✨

Half a day was enough as the sun was out and draining.
Half a day was enough as the sun was out and draining. At the last stop in Polonnaruwa where you have the temple there was a young man sketching and painting. There was also an older gentleman selling Neem & Jamun tree wood containers and tumblers for keeping water in the night and drinking in the morning Neem for better all over health & Jamun for decreasing blood sugar.

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Our trip around Kandy was truly memorable! We loved visiting the Temple of the Tooth, strolling around the peaceful lake, and exploring the vibrant local markets. The botanical gardens were stunning, and everything was easy to reach from the train station. Great food, kind people, and beautiful scenery all around.

The weather is very calm.
The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend
