We had a warm welcome with tea/coffee offered upon arrival. During the stay the host was very approachable for any questions we had. It’s conveniently located and walking distance to the entrance of Adams Peak. Nice breakfast is served, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Thank you to everyone at the Loris Manor for an ideal stay in Nuwara Eliya. Particularly Krishna, who organised everything for us including food, tours, laundry and anything else we needed, all while keeping everything around the property immaculate - Juli, who brought us on an amazing tour around the tea factories, plantations and beautiful waterfalls and finishing at the old Post Office - and Chandi, who collected us from the station and was just a lovely energy in general. The value for money here was second to none, the place is cosy, the food was great in the partner restaurant, and all of the services provided were exceptional - and comparatively very affordable. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a memorable stay in Nuwara Eliya.

The house and the views on tea plantation are wonderful, the furniture and the decor are incredibly authentic! Everything is very clean and the place is comfortable. We appreciated the chance to chill and relax in the living room with a cup of tea kindly offered by the staff. The whole staff (from the manager to the chef) are extremely friendly and kind, they spolied us with free tea, coffee and delicious meals. I would definitely recommend staying there if you are going to visit nuwara Eliya area.

A very quality stay. The place is a former holiday house of Sri Lanka‘s (independent) first PM. It‘s a good, sturdy house whose architecture is influenced by that of England (a common thing in Nuwara Eliya in general). Our room was spacious, had a very nice view on (I reckon) their garden. Or, some plantation. Anyway, it was green and beautiful and moody (because it‘s raining pretty much non-stop in Nuwara Eliya). Bathroom was big and clean and with hot water. There was a bathtub beside the shower but we didn‘t give it a try. It felt like we were the only visitors and the guys were cooking just for us. Kind of a private chef experience. Food was good. However, don‘t take their Full English Breakfast option — it was mediocre at best. Their Indian and Lankan options are 10x better.

This was our most expensive place to stay in Sri Lanka and we did not regret single rupi :) The view, the common area, the room which has heated beds! they cook food with ingredients from their own garden which they happily show to you. they also offer us tractor tour at their fields :) we felt so noblese with the way we were treatad. At the end of out stay they also cleaned our tuktuk! so thoughtful and friendly staff!❤️

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We were arriving in later than expected and they had food prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Excellent location for thr Pekoe Trail, good rooms and delicious food. I understand there will be facilities for guides accompanying parties. The hotel is on several levels so not suitable for people with disabilities.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
