Great spot right by the beach. All facilities, including the bar, restaurant, yoga area and beach loungers were great. Pizza was delicious. Hosts were very helpful and kindly provided a cold coconut drink on arrival.

We had a perfect stay at Lucky Bay. The rooms are right on the main street at Arugam Bay, meaning you’re one turn away from most shops and eateries. We didn’t have to use an auto rickshaw the entire time we stayed. The rooms are standard for Arugam Bay in general, but very clean, relatively quiet at night and with good AC. Last but definitely not least, the host/housekeeper Mo was gracious, diligent and respectful. He goes the extra mile to help his guests with anything they ask, and deserves all credit for his great service. Big ups and all five stars to Mo and the team!

We felt like home, everything is made for you to feel good, the pool is amazing, bungalows are super comfy, restaurant is really good (even the European food but also the local food not to spicy l, you can ask on demand), owners really helpful, friendly, here for you and the staff is joyful and super friendly to ! Spectacular sized room with enormous comfy bed, desk & comfy beanbag chairs, fridge & coffee/tea making facilities. Then on top a huge bathroom with wonderful shower plus an entire private enclosed garden. Then the pool was amazingly clean & all the staff super friendly & attentive. What's not to love!

This hotel is brand new, so everything feels clean, fresh, and modern. The facilities are excellent — each room has a lovely outdoor chill-out area, and the garden adds a nice relaxing touch. The location is quiet but close enough to walk to the beach. The accommodation is basic but fully functional and I had the best sleep here each night out of my whole 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. Enjoyed being able to choose breakfast from the menu. Rifai and family were very friendly and Rifai helped with all my questions and arranged a tuktuk for me. The family have recently opened this accommodation and are currently building another room. Please support local!

The hotel is absolutely new. Our room was spacious, fresh, and very clean, with a nice and well-maintained bathroom. If I ever visit Arugam Bay again, I would definitely stay here again — out of all the hotels in this price range, this one is the best! The hotel is run by a very polite and kind family who made us feel welcome. The location was excellent — on the main road, within walking distance to cafes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and just a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride to the beach, but you can also walk to it (20 minutes) It was quiet at night, and we had a very peaceful stay. There’s also a lake next to the hotel, where elephants sometimes come to drink — a beautiful sight to witness. All guest rooms are located on the second floor. They also plan to open a restaurant soon on the ground floor.

We had an amazing time staying at these beautiful new bungalows in Arugam Bay. The place has a fresh, stylish design and was incredibly comfortable – perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. Everything felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully put together. The host was absolutely fantastic – so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to organize a special trip for us where we saw wild crocodiles and elephants in their natural habitat. It was an unforgettable experience and truly a once-in-a-lifetime memory! If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place to stay with great hospitality and a touch of adventure, this is it. We can’t recommend it enough!

    My sister and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the aprota villas and we had an absolutely wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles. We booked an chalet which was well-maintained room, with a beautiful view, made us feel really comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, from accommodating our requests to offering helpful suggestions for things to do in the area. We enjoyed a delightful meal at the villa, where the food was not only delicious but also served with exceptional care. Overall, our stay at The Aprota villas was a memorable experience. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff for their excellent service and to the hotel for providing a perfect setting for our getaway. We look forward to returning in the future.

    This is a beautiful beach villa, colonial style, with a lot of privacy. Wonderful location, really excluded, fantastic views. Great and very helpful staff. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, very clean, so are the bathrooms. We had there everything we needed. Tasty and full breakfasts. You can eat lunch and dinner at the villa and I don't agree that they are overpriced, as some guests mentioned in their opinions. Dishes were tasty and various, priced as in an average restaurant in Arugam Bay. Overall, I wish I could come back here one day, maybe in a larger group to have the villa for our own.

    This resort is like a dream. One of the most beautiful resorts I have stayed at. It is super luxurious, beautiful private cabanas, good food and very attentive and nice staff. This is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. We stayed there for 3 nights. Also the beach in Arugambay is really fun with nice waves.

    The owner is super nice, the place is located in arugam bay with around 10 minutes walk to everywhere you want but still you don't have the noise from all the parties around.     You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

    You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

    Can you put correct price online also. Need to clean little bit more. Otherwise 2 big rooms with AC, 1 Non-AC small room, visiting hall. Everything good. Walking distance Restaurant, grocery and clothing shops . Good location.

    The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.
