They worked for us hard from early in the morning till late in the evening.The garden was very well-kept, it was amezing, we felt like being in paradise. The food was so tasty with wide range. The Nomad is a really lovely place. The food was very good, the staff at reception very friendly and professional. The whole set up with the swimming pool surrounded by greenery is lovely. Also nice to watch the different monkeys climbing in the trees. The beach is truly stunning, and while before booking I had feared the beach would be too busy, this was not the case. Of course when you go for a walk you are approached by beach sellers, but they accept a no. We had a standalone bungalow, with our own reclining chairs and lots of space around, very pleasant (that probably explains the high price, but for us that privacy and peacefulness was what we had been looking for), beach sellers walk past, but they leave you in peace when you say no. We also appreciated their environmental efforts.

Ocean Village club We had the great pleasure to spend 13 days at this extraordinary hotel. If you are looking for a really professional staff with integrity and a high level of service this is the place . Since the hotel is close to the “ jungle” monkeys are in the premises to my surprise the hotel has guards ( 12 of them ) who make sure the animals do not take food from the customers ( without harming them ) The “ monkey chasers “ also make sure no not résidence people accès the hotel and also all the time has full overview over sun beds and clients. Therefore a calm and rest fullness existed 24/7 , leaving sun bed and phones etc to swim in the warm and lovely Indian-ocean no problem. The atmosphere at the hotel was amazing , we even as the days went by learned almost all the staff by name ( due to their extreme service level - with great integrity ) Supervisor Ahmed was working around the clock making sure everything was perfect , the head Chef Toya made every night’s dinner extraordinary we sat outside every night and Toya at the big grill really could deliver - if you like octopus like me you are in for a treat ( I had it 12 days in a row on the grill - various taste / size / and spices) the staff Ali, Abdul, Jeffrey , Aisha, Mawarusha , Christiani, ( and more ) made every day from breakfast , lunch , dinner so so very pleasant- great thanks for once in a lifetime experience ( although we are planning soon return ) The cleaning standard was top top notch in every millimetre of the premises all from the nice gardeners ( Gona one of them ) which climbed up coconut trees and offered ( free) fresh coconut, and kept the garden in super condition , maiden made the room welcoming and everyday made something special to make us feel comfortable. Everyday fresh towels on sun beds ( enough beds for every guest ) and great smiles from the pool guys.

The most important point to mention are the staff that work here. They are a real asset to the hotel. They are friendly, welcoming and attentive. They truly complete the hotel. The hotel itself is set right there on an amazing stretch of beach. Beautiful sea water. The pool is great. Gardens pleasant. Rooms are great (some people may have really high standards when it comes to rooms but I feel in context they are brilliant) The restaurant food is abundant and of good quality (especially the steak) Drink service was fast and drinks good. All in all, a fabulous hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, great location right on the beach front generating the true African experience which is what I wanted. The check in was simple and easy process with everything self explanatory and the rules of the hotel were provided. the animation team were really good interacting with everyone - to be fair they had a tough audience especially when it came to the evening entertainment as people would have their dinner and then most would go to bed. I had an amazing time and wouldn't hesitate to come back again

Great place. The host organized freshly baked gluten free bread for us which was amazingly delicious. We had a spacious and quiet cottage. We enjoyed the use of the fridge and air conditioning. The electricity bill for 6 nights was very low, reasonable and below 10 dollars. Very kind staff. Clean pool. We rented a kayak nearby and went snorkeling by ourselves with low tide, which was amazing. Thank you!!

The location is perfect, right on the beach, and the resort has several clean and warm pools, offering a relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful beach, great community. Good local shopping and markets. lots of cheap local taxis. All our meals were prepared by the staff and were delicious so no need to eat out. The staff also did the food shopping and were so accommodating,

Its a nice place with a beautiful beach with clear blue water. Water in the apartments are however salty, I assume its because of the beach surrounding the area. Food and activities are expensive around this area.

The spirit at Kaya Kwetu is one of love and tranquility and, together with the constant sounds of the waves and the birds, feels a bit paradise-ish. Lindsay and her team are very attentive and helpful from first contact, special food requirements, transport options and late checkout. The creativity and vibe of the unique rooms has one transported into another world and it's all relaxation and connecting with nature. From the "jungle pool" to the beach walks and healthy meal options, a stay at Kaya feels like rejuvenation therapy :-)

Perfect.

Perfect. I wrote a previous outstanding review but Booking.com only posted my two comments from “suggested improvements”, which were inconsequential but gave a negative impression. The property was lovely, steps from an amazing white sandy beach fringed with coconut palms. I loved lolling on the comfy cushions on the roof terrace in the evenings. Cecilia who looked after us was amazing and a great cook. Her fish curries were to die for. The bed was comfy and the mosquito nets a great asset. The community pool was well maintained with a fabulous on site masseuse, Habiba. Amazing relaxing vacation would highly recommend.

Powdery white sand that is very easy to walk on. The reef about 500-600m offshore breaks the outer waves so inside the reef is moderately calm. Water shoes recommended due to sea urchins in some areas. A nice beach for walking, but you will be approached by vendors. A polite 'no' is usually sufficient. Several excellent places to eat along the stretch of beach where we stayed - Nomad's, Faulty's at the Flamboyant, Ali Barbour's Cave (reservation required), and Asha Boutique (Friday night beach buffet).

Ukunda is a great place to visit with family and also...

Ukunda is a great place to visit with family and also friends.The best place to watch the sunset on Kongo river and the beach is clean with white sand. We very much enjoyed each morning watching the monkeys jump around in the trees surrounding us Also amazing food at the estuary with very good price and friendly customer service. Overall : A beautiful 👌🏾 , friendly and peaceful place to be.

amazing beach, white, clean most times, palm trees. exactly like in paradise, snorkelling, windsurfing, jetski, sand bank walks were available we ate mostly in the main restaurant of Neptune Palm Boutique and Spa. But I can also recommend Sands Nomad or Alibaba restaurant.

Mostly private resorts however not far from Diani and accessible from Mombasa. The Likoni Ferry (which is the only way from Mombasa Island to the south) can take some time to cross- we took almost three hours when we first arrived.
