We had a nice room facing the lake & the Singaporean owners upgraded us to a room with tatami seats. It has a in-house onsen, therefore I never showered in my room. My mom was happy that there’s someone to speak Cantonese with her in Japan. My first night happened to be the Summer Festa at Lake Toya & so we watched the fireworks with the accompanying stage band. On the second night, the owners treated me with a few rounds of Scotch whisky. On the day we departed, we were given a delicious cheesecake as a goodbye gift. This affirmed my belief that traveling wasn’t taking great photos but making great connections with people.

What a beautiful hotel!! Our bedroom had views to the lake, it was amazing. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the onsen was amazing. We were lucky, at the time we went my daughter and I had the whole onsen to ourselves.

Nice,clean house with comfy beds and warm duvets. The kitchen has everything you need (coffee machine,toaster,microwave,gas stove,big fridge and freezer..!!). Communication with the owners was easy and they always responded quickly to our questions.
