The food was well prepared and very good value for money. The shuttle service to pick us up from the station and take us to surrounding areas (within a 30 minute radius by car) was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and cooperative.

This place was renovated old Japanese style house near to the train station. Nice light up to welcome visitors. I was greeted with a friendly manner. The entrance with garden view was nice but maybe too cold to hang out there in winter. Bunk beds are small and have some privacy at the bottom but not upper beds. Maybe two or three beds could have been best to have decent space for each guest? I just needed a place to stay interim, I didn't explore their facilities. Thank you anyway :)

The terrace that came with the room was a nice added plus . Of course the price is very cheap so I appreciate that and I understand I can’t expect a lot from it so it’s difficult to rate but I would not recommend going here. Sorry .

Just amazing, the decoration, with 30000 books, a beautiful spot in the mountains near the river, the onsens, and, last but not least, the food - you get the most incredible multiple courses menu - all of this for incredibly reasonable price.

Wonderful Experience in a Peaceful, Nature-Connected Atmosphere We stayed at the hotel for three nights and the experience was delightful. Our room was spacious and featured a stunning panoramic view of the lake, creating a serene atmosphere and genuine connection to the surrounding nature. The beds were very comfortable and contributed to a quality sleep. The breakfast was rich and varied, with both Japanese and Western options - each of us found exactly what suited our taste. The quality of the food was high and the selection was extensive. While the hotel's style is somewhat dated, that's actually part of its charm. Most importantly - everything is maintained to an excellent standard and feels clean and well-kept. The staff was simply wonderful - attentive, considerate, and always ready to help with a smile. We would definitely return and highly recommend!

Delightful cosy b&b with the most friendly, helpful and generous owners. Rooms are not huge but ample for a couple with lovely outlook over the garden. Breakfast is home cooked and delicious, served in a nice dining room with open fireplace nearby. The owners generously offered to serve us a home cooked meal for dinner one evening as we were having difficulty finding an open restaurant. It was delicious. Private bathrooms are small but adequate however they have a great large indoor bath/spa for guests which was so relaxing. Plenty of lovely places to visit, drives, local onsen etc and the owners have lots of local knowledge and information. Really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

The room was big, with too large beds that were extremely comfortable. The person at checkin was very helpful. The parking is not that large but very practical. There are a lot of onsen around and some tasteful restaurants.

Very nice house with great facilities. We especially like the onsen that you can book for private time. Location is great if you are visiting Lake Shirakaba. It's probably the best around the area.

This is a beautiful region of Japan, and it is astonishing...

This is a beautiful region of Japan, and it is astonishing that it’s just a few hours away from the crush, noise and bright lights of Tokyo. For an enjoyable and inexpensive meal I can recommend the 白樺湖榮園 Restaurant in town, just 5 minutes in the car, from the Hotel.

The area has many places of interest and tourist trails. The area is rich for hot springs, beautiful mountain rivers and lakes. You can eat tasty almos in every restaurats you find. The food is fresh and ecologically balanced. many options for sports. In Summer (August) the temperature near Shirakaba lake was comfortable - around 22C, while in Tokyo it was 34C.
