It rained during our stay, but there is a covered walkway all the way from inside the hotel to Makuhari Messe so it was not a problem at all. There is also a Lawson inside the hotel so all needs are taken cared of, and there are a few restaurant options although they open early and close late. There are also limited shuttle service from the hotel to the subway station, although they will not take big luggage that you cannot carry on your lap. The airport limo bus from Narita goes straight to the hotel as well so another big plus for convenience. If you enjoy transportation adventures, Hakone is the place for you! In one day with the Free Pass you can take the mountain train from Hakone-Yumoto up to the funicular (which they call a cable car) and then there are two cable cars (they call them ropeways) that you take up to smokin' (literally) Mt. Hakone and then down to the lake and from there you can take a ship across and if you like roller coaster rides, take the K bus back to Hakone--11 switch backs at breakneck speed! There are also onsen nearby and lots of tourist shops with a variety of local specialties. Really fun and highly recommended! Oh, and if you like art, definitely pit stop at the Open Air museum. Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama. Touristy, somewhat charmless town that is nevertheless worth it for the magnificent shrines (Shinto, and the resting places of the first and third shoguns) and temples (Buddhist) and the museum (splurge on the museum! Seriously).
