Miraggio in Val d’Orcia Relais & Spa. The staff were all very welcoming, especially the manager who checked in on us several times throughout our stay. We booked the spa experience (with sauna, steam room, and massage) and had the whole space to ourselves. it was such a relaxing treat. Breakfast each morning overlooking the Tuscan greens was beautiful, and the room was stylish, comfortable, and well thought out.

This place was fabulous. What an incredible and enriching experience. We were walking the Via Francigena and over stayed at the hot springs nearby. The owner came to get us and delivered us to our beautiful accomodations. A gated property on the countryside with beautiful views. Just at the bottom of Radicofani which as a side note is a gorgeous town. The property was an old refurbished farm that preserved its authenticity but added comfort and class. Everything was clean and beautiful. The rich history and exceptional service made this truly unique. The food was so farm fresh and made in house. My gluten free needs were not only met with such care but went beyond anything I could have dreamed of. Breakfast was beyond my imagination. Our bed was extremely comfortable and our in room fireplace was ready to go with one match. The bathroom was stunning and the tub was heaven after our 225km journey on foot. This place was the perfect spot to end our Tuscany tour. Simply the best!

Everything! I could not ask for a better accommodation in Montepulciano. The room is big, charming and very clean. Breakfast is ample, and the view from this place is absolutely breathtaking! Plus points that they have their own wine tasting (their own brand of Nobile di Montepulciano is amazing) and restaurant. But the absolute best thing about Villa Nottola is their staff. Their sincere hospitality and friendliness are what I will most remember.

Probably the nicest accommodation we have stayed in so far, with friendly service, breakfast, and a pool with views of the vineyards and mountains. The apartment has everything you need. We even stayed two days longer than planned. Just a 5-minute drive from the accommodation is the beautiful stone town of Montalcino, with many restaurants and small local shops. We will definitely come back here one day.

The view is magnificent, and it was really worthy staying here. Facilities may not be as new as hotels, but still cozy enough to enjoy Val D’Orcia atmosphere. Host Luca is responsive and easy to find him if any questions. A bit pity the weather was chill and not so suitable for swimming, but the pool view was really nice.

A beautiful historic town and one of our favourite stays on our 10-day Italy roadtrip. We traveled as a couple (in our 35-40's), and highly recommend staying at La Romantica Lolo, having a private wine tasting at Ercolani, dining at Ristorante La Grotta, and truffle hunting at Podere il Casale (15-min drive).

Pienza is a gem, with interesting historic buildings, lovely shops, some nice restaurants and breathtaking views. Importantly, it is a perfect basis to explore Val d'Orcia with its fantastic countryside, and beautiful old towns like Montalcino, Montepulciano etc.

It is a beautiful mountain town with lots to do but is off the beaten path. Great place to relax and take in the charm and beauty. Excellent for those who enjoy learning about Brunello wine and winetasting.

THE GOOD : The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia.

THE GOOD : The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia. The amenities of this property are good, rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious enough. The bathroom etc was great. Breakfast was also pretty good, though they could improve their bread selections. THE NOT GOOD : Staff is difficult to get hold of and are not very helpful/friendly. This is compounded by the fact that (if you speak English), they are not very conversant in English. THE BAD : We had specifically requested rooms to be close by but instead we were given rooms that were a 5 mins walk through hallways, elevators and literally on opposite ends of the property.

Charming medieval towns famous for world renown wines like Montalcino, San Quirico d´Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano or Monticchiello are within a short driving distance. There are few nice walking options to Rocca & Casteglione d´Orcia town located up on the opposite hill southward too.

The hot springs are in a natural setting and they are amazing - much less crowded than Saturnia. There are more hot springs at an old destroyed marble mine which the workers made into pools - locals go there and they are easy to access

Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight...

Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight when travelling through Tuscany. Beautifully quiet in the evening but with a number of restaurants to choose from to suit all tastes. We ate at Osteria Fra Paolino which was exceptional and proved to be the best meal of the 2 weeks we spent travelling from Rome through Tuscany to Florence.

Montepulciano is THE Tuscan hill-town to stay in.

Montepulciano is THE Tuscan hill-town to stay in. It is a bit bigger than its neighbors and is a fun place to wander around in. There's a lovely cafe, Lalma, just up the street from Casa degli Orti. There's great art in the town along with wonderful views, and of course, don't forget the wine! Lots of opportunities to taste what Tuscany has to offer. We had a car so we were able to drive to the other hill-towns. Pienza is cute; get some cheese! Montalcino was delightful. The whole area is simply jawdroppingly beautiful!
