FAQs about hotels in South Tyrol
Tyrolese Magic among the Italian Alps
Part of the Alpine regions of northern Italy, this small province mixes great ski slopes, rich traditions from Austrian, Italian and Ladin cultures, stunning landscapes, and great food and wines. Seasons make no difference here, as the enchantment of South Tyrol has always something magic to offer.
With strong cultural and historical bonds with the Austrian Tyrol, this tiny region has a population with a German-speaking majority. The charming towns spread through its undulating geography mix the Tyrolese and Italian influence.
In the picturesque capital Bolzano, the Walther Square with the Cathedral of The Assumption of Our Lady and the trendy shops along Via dei Portici are a must to visit. Known also as Bozen, it is famous for the Christmas Market, where most of the hotels in South Tyrol get sold out quickly.
Merano is the 2nd city in the region and is famous for its spa facilities. And of course, also some the best luxury hotels in South Tyrol are located here. - From US$607.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 541 reviewsThe location of this hotel was absolutely amazing with fantastic views and calm vibes. It all started with the most amazing welcoming from the staff and from then just got better and better. The hotel was so clean and very well maintained and the spa facilities were exceptional, it reminded us of being back in bali. at times we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Being a chef I also thought the food was amazing with lots to offer. what made this trip so special was, when I told the staff I wanted to propose to my girlfriend on the pool deck they went out of there to make it as romantic as possible. As frequent traveller's we highly recommended staying at this hotel, you will not be disappointedGuest review byHenryUnited Kingdom
- From US$297.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 476 reviewsOne of the best places I’ve ever stayed in with the most incredible views of the Dolomites on your doorstep. We stayed in their Yakima (tent option) which was very comfortable and spacious, with spacious storage units underneath (but be aware of ladder access only to use these). The facilities on site were incredible, super clean and lots of them so it wasn’t busy! Lovely sauna and spa included, and some of the best breakfast (included!) options. Options for dinner on site were so well made, and the on site shop and electric charging came in very useful. Would 10000% stay here again when we come next time.Guest review byNavkiranUnited Kingdom
- From US$558.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 922 reviewsThe hotel is located near the city center of Meran, everything is easily accessible from here. We arrived with a large car (Toyota Sienna), it was a bit difficult to find a place in the underground garage, but we managed. From the hotel, you can cross a closed corridor (free of charge) to the city spa center, but the hotel's own wellness area is also wonderful. We really enjoyed the rooftop outdoor pool. The service is first-rate, we recommend the half board to everyone. The staff is kind and helpful.Guest review byZoltanHungary
- From US$297.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,426 reviewsWe were very impressed with the Laurin Hotel, especially how well single guests are accommodated. The single rooms are just as comfortable and beautifully appointed as the double rooms, and even offer a lovely view, something that is quite rare. The bicycle storage is equally impressive, as can be seen in the pictures. We would have loved to stay longer to fully enjoy the relaxing resort atmosphere, the high-quality food and beverages, and the exceptionally friendly staff.Guest review byLauraGibNetherlands

Very clean, good spa area with attentive personnel. This part of hotel is great for people who wants to have more calm atmosphere than in the main building. By the way very good quality of manicure, a that is rare to find. Takes time but worth it 100%. Cool bar with view, a cocktails and intertainment. I have forgotten my belongings in the room and they were sent directly home. Service was great!Guest review byNataliaGermany
- From US$933.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 142 reviewsOne of the best hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was accommodating from the check-in desk to the team in the restaurant (especially Chris) to the housekeeping lady. The area is so magical and peaceful. The Spa is a big bounce. We took the chalet with 2 rooms, big space and comfy beds. All you need is available. There is a train station less than 5 mints on foot.Guest review byAhmedSaudi Arabia

The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.Guest review byLuiza - 10.0

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.Guest review byLisaUnited States - 10.0

This is a relatively small town and so easily walkable with lots of really nice local bakers, and shops selling cheese, wine, speck and chocolate - plus the usual supermarkets, pharmacies and places where you can get all your hiking and walking gear. Try strolling along all the narrow streets that lead off the main square to see what's there. A really pleasant and slightly longer walk to take is by following the path along the river to the nearby Neustift/Novacella Abbey where you can try the excellent wine they make there (the local grape varieties are Kerner and Sylvaner) and cheese.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites.
The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites. Hotels and Apartments are plentiful and in every price level. You can choose from so many hikes (all different levels) you can fill 3 weeks. Depending what other locations are on your itinerary, 3 days allow you to see the highlights and get a sense of the beauty of the Dolomites. Yet, it's easy to fill a week. Summer like winter.Guest review byMichaelGermany - 10.0

Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able to explore both sides and experience a variety of terrain, none extremely challenging which worked for our various fitness levels. The views are stupendous and the convenience of the huts along the trails for lunch, a drink or even a break from the rain were fantastic. We didn't need to worry about packing snacks or lunches, and instead enjoyed reasonably priced, delicious meals along our hikes.Guest review byCarmenUnited States - 10.0
Nice and clean apartment.
Nice and clean apartment. Even we only had contact with the host via the chat, the host was very helpful though. The location of apartment was perfect. It's located in the city center. We love the view outside the living room. Parking was 15 euro per night, it's very nearby apartment. We had a lovely stay at Casa Fellin.Guest review bySumalaiNetherlands - 10.0
We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday house!
We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday house! Great location – very close to the cable cars that take you to Seceda and Monte Pana in the beautiful Dolomites. The area is peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were very kind, welcomed us with gifts, and gave us great tips on what to see and do nearby. The house had everything we needed: brand-new beds, super comfortable mattresses, and the host kindly provided lower pillows upon request. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We stayed on the ground floor – although the weather was rainy, it was always warm inside thanks to the heating. A perfect place for both active holidays and peaceful rest – highly recommended!Guest review byAntanasLithuania - 10.0
Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination.
Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.Guest review byJurajCroatia - 10.0
Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town.
Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town. There is a train station for trips to other nearby towns or into Austria. The bus service is excellent. You can go for hikes up the Dolomites and reach the famous three peaks. So much to do. The drinking water is amazing.Guest review byMonica - 10.0
Corvara is an excellent base for exploring the area.
Corvara is an excellent base for exploring the area. It is much higher and cooler than Bolzano. It is much smaller and easier to navigate than Cortina. It has access to very easy alpine meadow trails and more challenging rocky places above the tree line.Guest review byDavidUnited States
