FAQs about hotels in Salento
A Magic Southern Jewel
Comprising the south part of Italy’s Region of Puglia, the Salento peninsula is located in the ‘heel’ of the Italian ‘boot’. With an unusual and beautiful landscape, it also has traditions shaped by explorers and invaders from a variety of cultures that reached its coasts.
If Salento is a jewel, the main piece is definitely the city of Lecce. Its walled historic centre is greatly admired for the uniqueness of its Baroque style. It also has a Roman theatre and a Greek amphitheatre, both still in use. Try a hotel in Lecce’s old town and go back in time!
Blessed with the waters from the Ionian and the Adriatic seas, its rocky coves and small sandy inlets contrast with the light blue waters. Popular beach hotels in Puglia’s Salento region are located near the Alimini Lakes and the Portoselvaggio Bay.
Other important coastal areas are Porto Cesareo, Torre dell'Orso, Santa Maria di Leuca and Santa Cesarea Terme. Gallipoli and Otranto deserve a visit not only for their beaches, but also because of their beautiful historic centres, mostly shaped during the Aragonese domination of the area.

- From US$210.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 121 reviewsIt was so lovely everything being single storey. Such a sense of space and escape. The food was so great. Some of the buffet can be a bit underwhelming, but when you figure out which of the counters to go to for the best food, you're on to a winner. The speciality stall at lunch was incredible. The apertivo times were so good. Such amazing variety. And to cook pasta on mass and still be brilliantly at dente is super impressive. The flavours were amazing, the olive oil available for the tables was so delicious. The staff were all so lovely and accommodating. The kids club and the entertainment activities were so much fun. The beach is small but paradise. The main pool is amazing. Always more than enough sunbeds and umbrellas, and an excellent temperature.Guest review byRebekahUnited Kingdom

- From US$928.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 23 reviewsMe and my boyfriend stayed for a long weekend in May at this beautiful, truly private, magical place and we had the best time. The people, especially the host, Adriano, were extremely kind, warm and welcoming, it was hard to leave. The property is stunning, a dreamy place with history, the rooms we saw (we had to switch at some point) were very classy and beautiful. The perfect place to charge batteries, also, incredible food. I am absolutely thrilled and will hopefully be able to come back some time!Guest review byAntoniaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 170 reviewsFor the first time I had a holiday in an all inclusive hotel and I liked absolutely everything. Firstly it is a beautiful beach, secondly very good territory, where there is absolutely everything for recreation. We holidayed with a baby and I want to say that this is an ideal place for a holiday with children. Very good food, great choice of dishes, everything is fresh, great choice of desserts. Nice staff and fun animation. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we will definitely go again.Guest review byannaRomania

Ostuni is a beautiful city located near so many other unique neighboring cities. The people were wonderful, helpful, and so many go above and beyond to understand your needs or questions. While staying in Ostuni, there was a really nice celebration for the city's patron saint, Saint Oronzo, that they had a parade for, and fun parties in the historic city center.Guest review bySilviaUnited States - 10.0
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt.
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt. It has a wonderfully tiled big square along the harbor with lots of restaurants. The town's white washed houses are delightful. It has a nice cathedral with a huge, beautifully restord mosaic along the floor of the cathedral. Visiting the historic castello is advisable. Walking the small pretty streets with its shops, cafes is very pleasant.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in restaurants if you prefer. Beaches were very clean, and locals very helpful. Prices were very reasonable too, with local shops providing local produce. For a real treat, try Cosimino Restaurant on Via Cosimo Albano; you can book a table overlooking the sea - its great food, and a fabulous atmosphere. It was not a noisy resort, in fact, we thought it was quiet, however, on weekends there was live music after dark. If you are planning a stay, Porto Cesareo is the perfect place to unwind and capture some Italian sunshine.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Brindisi is a lovely seaside town - it's not full of tourists and has a nice feel to it. There are many restaurants with good local food. The city is a perfect base for trips to other nearby cities like Bari or Lecce via train, bus or car. And there are many beaches not too far away.Guest review byStevePoland - 8.0

A great place to stay if you want to be situated near a wonderful beach, and visit other places in the area. We visited late September, so the crowd was really off, and the place was very relaxed and quiet. You do need a car if you want to visit the whole area.Guest review byMarijaNorth Macedonia - 10.0

A truly beautiful place, so much to see and some great restaurants. The museums, churches, architecture all beautiful. I would say three days would be ideal, an excellent place for a short break. Traffic into the old town is restricted across the middle opf the day, which enhances the appeal.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Tenuta Cursano is a wonderful place to stay.
Tenuta Cursano is a wonderful place to stay. Silvia and Marcello make you feel completely at home. They are very hospitable and have worked hard over the past few years to convert a farm into a beautiful vacation home. We had a wonderful vacation and were able to take fun trips to cities and the coast from here.Guest review byEdwinNetherlands
