This hotel is wonderful. The staff are really lovely (they also gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant which uses only local produce, ask them, it was fab!) and the location is perfect; an easy walk to everything. It's so cute inside as well, just like the photos they published on here. Breakfast was great as well, and when we needed to leave before breakfast on the final morning, they packed one up for us the night before. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It was perfect.

The attention to detail to create a historical immersion into the past was incredible. All staff were passionate about history, archaeology, music & were very helpful & friendly. This was a truly unique & unforgettable experience. The underground pool area exceeds expectations looking much larger than the photos & it is such a peaceful escape from the heat.

We loved absolutely everything about this property. Xavier the Hotel Receptionist attended us with so much care and tried his best to organize activities such as cooking classes for us. The rooms are very carefully designed with so much attention to detail. Don’t miss the cisterns in the Lobby area. Sadly they were not filled with water due to maintenance. Also don’t miss the Pancetta Bread Salad for breakfast and order some Omelets.

We loved our stay at Palazzo della Fontana. Everything was nice, from the welcome drink on the rooftop to the helpful staff that gave us great advice and treated us to a fine breakfast on the terrace. The location is very convenient, just by the Sassi but with the comforts of a well renovated building with all modern perks, comfortable beds, and elegant rooms.

This place is absolutely unique. Very rare type of luxury. Don't expect huge flat screen TVs, latest tech etc. - this is much better than that. Located in the heart of Sassi, this place offers authenticity, large doses of subtle luxury, and impeccable hospitality of the staff members. It is hard to find accommodation like this - even harder to find one, where hospitality and professionalism of the staff matches the premises. Breakfast is superb, offering large options of top quality local produce. Cleanliness of the rooms and frequency of cleaning is top notch - you even wonder when and how they do it. Very luxurious, yet subtle and cozy. Unmatched setting and surroundings. Huge respect to the vision, hard work, attitude and hospitality of all the staff members. 100/10 would recommend, hope to come back soon.

We throughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this property with no issues encountered whatsoever. Nicolo is a wonderful host, very kind and was present for any questions we had, from the time we made the booking, up to the day we checked out - a testament to his hospitality and the ratings this property has online. Centrally located with just a 5-min walk to the centre, free parking quite easy to find around the area, and the room well-equipped, clean and decent in size, Graffiti is just perfect, particularly with the value for money. Even the breakfast pastries were great. Can NOT recommend this property enough. It made our Matera visit even lovelier than the charm the city already has in the first place. Thank you!

Amazing hotel engraved into my the hill and looks like thousand and one night at night. Amazing trip back in time and very spacious and comfortable and clean room for 6 people. Very friendly and caring staff, open to help - they helped to book for us place in parking and shuttle delivery to the hotel. Nice breakfast. In general whole experience - THE AMAZING IMPRESSION to remember!!! Highly highly recommended as quite uniques experience And Matera city itself is massive unique experience - clearly no miss destination

We booked this hotel after reading all the great reviews—and it truly didn’t disappoint. What you see is exactly what you get! The hotel is spacious, clean, and offers stunning views. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They even went the extra mile to help us book a cab and communicated with the driver on our behalf, which made everything so much easier. And not to forget the breakfast—it was generous, delicious, and a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommended!

Great location just steps to the major piazza8 and Sassi district, also close to train station and some intercity busses (e.g.Bari Airport) The reception desk was very accommodating, polite, and professional. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our request for a higher level room was fulfilled. The breakfast was very tasty and consisted of a variety of choices. Very comfortable and pleasant stay. The place is excellent! In every way! Spectacular location, good service (includes pick-up and drive back to parking as the hotel is in Sassi area and trafic is restricted there), very very good breakfast with local cheese and meats choices. We wished to stay for additional night, but the hotel was fully booked... and no wonder why... very much recommended!

This hotel was such a good choice for our stay in Matera! It has a great set-up, we felt we went back in time in a romantic era and enjoyed the most elegant things! Breakfast set-up was amazing and the capuccino was 10/10. All choices of food in the breakfast were good quality. The gardens and pool are amazing and another great plus to this hotel.

Arrived at an impressive looking building. On checking in, the staff were really friendly and informative. The restaurant meal was very good, the pool was very welcoming after a days travelling and great on site secure parking. Only 10 mins to Matera.

After 12 trips to Italia, we have been to many cities (large and small), and can easily put Matera up there with our other favorites. Those favorites include ...with no apology...Florence...and a handful of others such as Siena, Verona, and Siracusa. Matera is a worthy addition to this highly regarded list. It is a little hard to describe the allure...a rockbound city in a ravine...but I cannot see anyone coming away from here and failing to be impressed by this place...

There were more than enough beds for the three of us at this...

There were more than enough beds for the three of us at this accommodation. There was also a coffee machine there but couldn't see any coffee pods or coffee powder to make the coffee or how to use the machine, but it was great having it there.

We absolutely loved Matera.

We absolutely loved Matera. Our accommodation was fantastic. We loved the location, cleanliness, the two bathrooms and two bedrooms. The kitchen was fantastic as was the large living area. We loved staying here and have already recommended this accommodation to our friends.

Amazing old town.

Amazing old town. You can walk for hours and not see the same place. We walked across the gorge, over a rope bright and up to the caves. Great restaurants and very inexpensive. Surrounding the old town is modern shopping. Need 2-3 full days.
