- From US$320.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 85 reviewsCasa di Lago was just exactly what we hoped for - and more - just a short walk from the centre of town where the most difficult thing was deciding which restaurant to eat at. We loved our small terrace where we could breakfast or occasionally lunch - and the views from all of the bedroom balconies. But the best part for us was the private lakeside garden - I wouldn’t recommend it for children who cannot swim, as there is no really ‘shallow end’ - but for us it was simply bliss - time for a much needed relax. Reception staff were charming and very responsive, and there was free parking a short distance away. I can’t wait to return, hopefully bringing family and friends.Guest review byMayUnited Kingdom
- From US$221.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 700 reviewsOur stay here was perfect! There was a hammock on the balcony, a firepit outside the spa in the evening, breakfast had a great range of home cooked food with locally sourced ingredients, including honey made on site. Room was clean and air conditioned with really nice attention to details. All the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions we had. Super nice, friendly and relaxing vibe. You can walk to Orta in about 20-30 mins or drive down. There is secure parking too and the train station only a short walk away. Highly recommend this place!Guest review byJasmineBelgium

The breakfast was quite nice too. Very delicious home-made types of food were offered to us. We had an amazing experience in this Hotel and in Orta San Giuglio as well. Very lively, loud music going on until 2.00am, but fun. We watched the excellent fireworks display o the Sunday from the 5th floor terrace. Our room was good with great aircon big bathroom. All very clean. Included breakfast was very good. Location by the lake surrounded by bars and restaurants. The hotel previously warned us about noise from the festival.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom

The old town is lovely, and pedestrian.
The old town is lovely, and pedestrian. Lots of ice cream shops and restaurants. it wasn't too crowded (mid-July). There is a lovely lakeside path, especially on the north side of town. You can take a boat to the island which only takes 5 mins. Walking around the island takes around 20 mins (it's an interior path so you don't see the lake much while on the island), but the church is lovely. You can also walk up (quite steep) to the 'Sacro Monte' on the hill with its many frescoed chapels and churches dedicated to St Francis of Assisi. Access to the town might not be easy if you have mobility problems as the car park is on the hill.Guest review byCarolynFrance - 8.0

If you are seeking peace, tranquility and natural beauty - this is the place for you. No children and gorgeous lake - much smaller than Como or Maggiore but you can easily get to Maggiore in 30 minutes if you want more life. Gorgeous restaurant which the hostess arrange for us with taxi to and from included just down the road and a little local Osteria 30 meters away for a truly local experience.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There were market stalls on Thursday. Extremely helpful and patient locals (we speak a tiny, tiny amount of Italian). Great local takeaways, cafe's and restaurants. A couple of supermarkets if you really want them but why would you with all the local shops selling the best cheese, meats, bread and pastries.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We stayed in Alzo, part of Pella apparently, but its own little village up the hill somewhat on the west side of Lago d'Orta. The square looks over the lake: fantastic view with a small village feeling. Post office, lodging choices, church, dining (Osteria del Gallo), bank, all a short drive down to Pella or up more to the homes and sights high above.Guest review byWilliam - 10.0

Miasino is a quit small village. We choose for a dinner @ villa Nigra Taverne. Fine and fresh cooked. The other day we start to walk down to the lake steep but nice walk for 20 minutes and visit the old village for a couple of hours.Guest review byJanNetherlands - 10.0

It is a quiet and historic town - visit to the island was worthwhile and there is a nice park with views to walk in above the town. It is a long, steep, walk from the railways station though! Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning. Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin. Efficient and friendly staff 👏👏Guest review byJean-MichelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A lovely small town with narrow, cobbled streets.
A lovely small town with narrow, cobbled streets. Easy access to boat trips across the lake. The Basilica on Isola San Giulio is outstanding and definitely worth a visit. Swimming in the lake is fabulous! Good bars and restaurants in the town. L'Officina was a lovely wee bar with great cocktails and friendly staff.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom
