hotel. We had a delightful view over the roof slates to the lake and mountains. Room and bathroom with painted walls and a luxury spa bath were much enjoyed. We enjoyed two excellent evening meals in the restaurant overlooking the lake. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit. It was so nice just being able to wander out into the streets and piazza of lovely Orta. The staff were very friendly and offered helpful information.

From the first second we entered the hotel and had check in, very thoughtful caring gesture with the snacks and drinks in the room, the selection of the aromatic soap and the amenities in the bathroom to the real down duck duvet in the bedroom, variety of delicious food at the breakfast, everything was top quality and very caring about the guests! We were even given free parking space in the underground garage! So so thoughtful and caring, thank you so much for your incredible hospitality!

Our stay here was perfect! There was a hammock on the balcony, a firepit outside the spa in the evening, breakfast had a great range of home cooked food with locally sourced ingredients, including honey made on site.
Room was clean and air conditioned with really nice attention to details. All the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions we had.
Super nice, friendly and relaxing vibe. You can walk to Orta in about 20-30 mins or drive down. There is secure parking too and the train station only a short walk away.
Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic hospitality, we were very very impressed- it made us feel like home! From the first second we entered the hotel and had check in, very thoughtful caring gesture with the snacks and drinks in the room, the selection of the aromatic soap and the amenities in the bathroom to the real down duck duvet in the bedroom, variety of delicious food at the breakfast, everything was top quality and very caring about the guests! Luca is a fantastic host and we received a very warm welcome- really impressed. Wonderful view from our top floor kitchen window and use of a spacious, well-kept garden in a beautiful home. The children loved the pets, bubble pool and playing tennis. We enjoyed our meal under the colonnades on our last night, overlooking the beautiful Lake D'Orta.
Close to great corner shop for self catering and walking distance from traditional Italian Ostieretta.

The location and B&B had been highly recommended by a friend, and we were not disappointed. Our very clean room was a good size with plenty of light. It had a balcony and a stunning outlook over to the lake across a private garden that belongs to the B&B and is for the use by its guests. The breakfast was outstanding and the host, Massimo, is very obliging and helpful. We hope to stay here again!

There was also a very nice bistro/bar that overlooked the lake
- La Cucina restaurant, with the same amazing view, served varied dishes, we had the tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was amazing
The staff at La Darbia was welcoming and helpful
All in all a perfect stay
We will definitely visit again

The Approdo is superbly located by the Cinderella lake, Lago D’Orta. Rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and the staff very helpful. The Buffet breakfast catered for all nationalities with a great choice of food. Staff at the pool shack made an iced espresso that kept the energy levels up. Can’t fault this property.

Choose a room with air condition if you are planning to come in summertime… we had booked a double room without it and that room was like a hot cave. We were able to upgrade to another room and it was totally worth it.

If you are seeking peace, tranquility and natural beauty - this is the place for you. No children and gorgeous lake - much smaller than Como or Maggiore but you can easily get to Maggiore in 30 minutes if you want more life. Gorgeous restaurant which the hostess arrange for us with taxi to and from included just down the road and a little local Osteria 30 meters away for a truly local experience.

There were market stalls on Thursday. Extremely helpful and patient locals (we speak a tiny, tiny amount of Italian). Great local takeaways, cafe's and restaurants. A couple of supermarkets if you really want them but why would you with all the local shops selling the best cheese, meats, bread and pastries.

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.

Loved the building we stayed in and the hosts were lovely and informative. The area is less touristy than Como and has a peaceful charm about the place. Some of the restaurants in Orta were less than charming but that can happen anywhere. Next time we would stay longer and explore the hiking potential.

We stayed in Alzo, part of Pella apparently, but its own little village up the hill somewhat on the west side of Lago d'Orta. The square looks over the lake: fantastic view with a small village feeling. Post office, lodging choices, church, dining (Osteria del Gallo), bank, all a short drive down to Pella or up more to the homes and sights high above.

Taking boats to the village's and th island is a must.
The restaurant on the island is wonderful with great food and if you sit by the window as we did a wonderful view.
You also need to walk up the sacred mount to see all the chapels.
The place is not a mass tourist place so visit now before others find it.

Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning.
Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin.

Miasino is a quit small village.
Miasino is a quit small village. We choose for a dinner @ villa Nigra Taverne. Fine and fresh cooked.
The other day we start to walk down to the lake steep but nice walk for 20 minutes and visit the old village for a couple of hours.
