FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast
A Feast For the Eyes
Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!
In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.
Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.
High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.
Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

- From US$103.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 298 reviewsWe had a great stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect — central and convenient for everything we needed. The apartment was super clean and well-maintained, and the check-in and check-out process was very easy. The service overall was excellent — the staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help. There were just a couple of minor issues. The Wi-Fi in our apartment didn’t work properly, but when we reported it, the staff immediately offered us a room change. That kind of responsive service really made a positive impression. Also, the water in the shower drained very slowly, which was a bit uncomfortable. Aside from these small issues, everything else was perfect, and we would definitely stay here again!Guest review byLaliGeorgia
- From US$352.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 280 reviewsWow! What can I say!? I stayed here with my girlfriend for 7 nights, and from the second we got to the hotel we felt extremely welcome and you could tell that the staff would do anything to make your stay as enjoyable and rememberable as possible. The room was beautiful and clean with views that you would struggle to find anywhere else in the world. The restaurant was beautiful food, we had breakfast each morning which was lovely, but the 1 meal we did have at night was just the best! Probably my favourite meal while staying on the Amalfi coast and we tried many restaurants. Would recommend to anyone, close enough to both Positano and Amalfi.Guest review byTommyUnited Kingdom
- From US$866.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 93 reviewsElegant and luxurious stay. Staff very helpful and polite. The room was comfortable and they did housekeeping twice a day. The property is so green and has comfortable sitouts everywhere. The infinity pool is amazing and so is the thermal spa which was complimentary. They even gave us a farewell gift of tomato sauce and pasta which we loved. This clearly is one of my best stays ever - i have stayed across 5 stars over the world but this experience is the most memorable and i will always remember. Thanks Team Monastero S & R!Guest review byShreyaIndia

I stayed in several hotels in the Amalfi Coast but this one was my favorite. Room has an incredible view, the private beach is calm and discrete which is amazing for relaxing day at the beach, the breakfast, lunch and service from waiters were all excellent. The city is small but very charming, with very nice people and seafood restaurants. I am very happy I stoped by there and I can only recommend Cetara and Hotel Cetus.Guest review byHamzaSwitzerland

Positano is a total zoo!!!
Positano is a total zoo!!! The alleys are jam-packed with people and lined with shops selling tourist junk. The roads are extremely curvy and hazardous to walk on (shoulders are about 6" wide). Every time I tried to take a bus there were about 4 busloads of people waiting and it was a battle to get on.Guest review byStaciaUnited States - 10.0

Ravello is great for a small group who want a relaxed experience focused around good, scenery, and history. Be warmed there's lots of stairs, the bus isn't always easy to get, and prices can be a bit higher than other towns. There is almost no crazy traffic though, and every view is better than the last. An amazing experience.Guest review byrobertUnited States - 10.0

The small town feel of Agerola was great as we arrived from Rome which was really chaotic Loved the rooms. Better if there was an elevator for those staying in the upper storeys. Love the breakfast. Better if more helpers rather than just the 1 person who was overwhelmed by the needs of everyone. Value for the money no equal. Was the best deal in our Italy tourGuest review byJazminUnited States - 8.0

Lots of ceramic shops selling almost the same items. many good restaurants within walking distance. Arrive by train then take the accensore (elevator) down to the town - the lift-well is lined with blue tiles and fish. Gorgeous. The ferry stops down at the bay and bus 68 takes you up to the town for 1.4euro. Buy the ticket from the ladies in the ceramic shop near the bus stop before you board and validate on the bus.Guest review byPamelaAustralia - 8.0

Furore is around 15km from amalfi, sounds close but in reality due to the winding roads it takes around 25 minutes in a car/bus Furore is quite spread out so you need to take that in to account when staying there. Car/moped is the best method of transport followed by the bus, walking is an option but be prepared for many steep hills. This is a perfect base to get into amalfi, but be aware that parking in amalfi itself is challenging and the police/car towing companies are red hot!Guest review byMARKUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing vacation. There are plenty of good restaurants and enough markets for everyday needs. The area also offers great historical sites to explore, along with the beautiful Valle delle Ferriere nature park nearby. A convenient bus stop with frequent service makes it easy to get around the area without a car.Guest review byNemanjaSerbia
