- From US$290.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,424 reviewsWe were greated by a lovely girl at the reception and immediately upgraded to a better room with a view of the mountains. She also got us a reservation for the hotel restaurant right away where we were treated like king and queen. Great breakfast, cozy room and good selection of TV channels. Amazing outside hot tub with a view to die for. We really felt pampered here. Oh, and let's not forget the cherry on top - when the night came, we saw the northern lights and after a quick photoshoot in the gardens, we continued to enjoy the light show from our big room windows. Perfect stay.Guest review byGabi Ba.Denmark
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 696 reviewsThe place is in a great location, just up from the harbour in a lovely spot . The rooms are cosy, a little tight on room, but very comfortable and modern. The staf are great, check-in a breeze and ready to help with dinner reservations or on what to see in the area. Lovely area by reception to have a hot drink, read or spend a few minutes. Breakfast was offered and was well worth it. Would stay againGuest review byKevinAustralia

We were glad they had curtains as the sunlight was intense. The area around the hotel was awesome for going on short and scenic walks. There is a restaurant on the property and that was a nice place for dinner. I don't think there were many other options. We also had breakfast there too.Guest review byJanetUnited States

We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!Guest review byAlexisUnited States - 8.0
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason.
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason. It offers no services, like toilets. If the weather is ok and you like walking, there is a free spot closer to the city, 1mile or 1500m, with a trail to the fall. The fall and the mountain together in a pic are the postcard you imagined.Guest review byPietroItaly - 10.0

The hike to the island is very nice, we did it at 11pm after our dinner. You have to visit the church. We loved this village and his traditional houses. We eat very well at Sjávarpakkhúsið restaurant.Guest review byEtienneSwitzerland - 10.0

Stayed here because there was reasonably priced accommodations mostly on route to where we were going. The town is small, doesn't appear to be too much to it. The people were nice, it felt safe, and was by the water.Guest review byJennaAustralia - 8.0

The annual music festival was great as ever with fine program and performing artists. The new church has outstanding acoustics and do not forget do have a glance at the old church from 1887 and the Snorri Sturluson bath originated from 13th century.Guest review byMagnúsIceland - 10.0

I would like to address several reviewers comments in general about the size of the bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms have been updated. the bathrooms are on the smaller side but so are most of the bathrooms in all the hotels I have stayed at in Iceland. We travel extensively and notice differences in all of the countries we have been to that are different from our own places and each place that you go. I think it is ok to mention this so other people are aware but to complain so much about it is not necessary. I would also like to mention how wonderful their water is! It can go from freezing cold to sauna hot in a matter of seconds and it is the only country that I prefer to dink from the tap! I hope this helps :)Guest review byMelissa - 10.0

Hellnar is the perfect location, close to all the major attractions on the peninsula and an ideal place to spend the night while soaking in the beauty of the landscape. There’s a charming little café just a few minutes from the Peninsula Suites that serves the best waffles with jam and whipped cream, an Icelandic classic. The views are truly out of this world, we’ve never seen anything like it. Cliffs, ocean, glacier, and moss all come together in the most breathtaking way. It’s an absolute must on your trip!Guest review byDorota KotniewiczPoland
