We booked a stay for 3 nights together with a fully planned 4-day trip trough the komodo national park. Jhojo did a great job and showed us the all the beautys of the national park. We had a provate boat, with our own captain, Firman and his son. We saw a lot of dragons, visited beautiful snorkelling places. Jhojo guided us also to see turtles and lovley corals!
We slept at his wifes brothers house and had an amazing all inclusive package of delightful indonesian cuisine.
Though you cant find luxus on this island, everybody is so nice and respectful, like the whole village is one big family (together with dragons in the garden).
Big thanks to Jhojo ans his Family for this amazing experience, we can absolutely recommend this to everyone.
See you next time Jhojo! 🥰

When you arrive in Labuan Bajo, everyone will try to sell you a multi-day boat trip to Komodo - but there’s a better way to explore the national park: a homestay in Komodo village itself! Jacky is a awesome host, very friendly, speaks great English and he will organize everything for you. We were able to spend as much time with the dragons/turtles/on top of the mountains as we liked without being rushed. He‘s very transparent about the costs and the prices are rather low, considering that you’ll have a private tour and boat.
Added bonus: the view from the veranda and the home-cooked meals.
Featuring mountain views, Jhuna Komodo Homestay is located in Komodo, around 1.8 km from Pink Beach. This homestay offers free private parking and a minimarket.

Wonderful experience. Nothing to do with tourist excursions from Labuan Bajo.
Jhuna was perfect host, guide and sailor (also ask him about transfers to and from the island).
His wife is a wonderful cook (no need to go to a restaurant).
It certainly requires a certain spirit of adaptability. You have to be aware that it is not a hotel but a real village house, so: bathroom shared with another room and shower with basin.
However this allows you to really experience the island, see the dragons up close and discover incredible beaches without crowds.
Thank you Jhune, I wish you and your family all the best.
Komodo Resort is located on Sebayur Island bordering Komodo National Park, an hour’s boat ride from the Komodo Dragon Tour on Rinca Island.

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time!
Staff are very welcoming and polite. Food was also excellent. Our bungalow with panorama sea view window was beautiful and clean, with mosquito net installed for the bed.
We went for a total of 17 dives with the dive center. They are professionally run and very safety concious. Both the manager and the guides went out of their way to meet all of our wishes. Marine wildlife in Komodo is world class and never disappointed. We warmly recommend staying and diving here!

This place is all about the rare privilege of staying on Komodo Island and immersing yourself in local life within a small fishing village. The people are incredibly welcoming, and the children play freely—no screens in sight, just real connection and joy.
We ventured beyond the village to trek through the wilderness in search of Komodo dragons—and we weren’t disappointed. We even witnessed a pair mating, which was unforgettable.
Our accommodation arranged a private boat for us each day (we stayed four days), allowing us to snorkel, trek, visit turtles and manta rays, explore nearby islands, and experience all the region’s natural highlights at our own pace. Harri, who looked after us on the boat, was fantastic—having spent his whole life in the area, he knew exactly where to go for the best sights and encounters.
The food at our homestay was exceptional—fresh fish straight from the local boats every day. Accommodation is basic by Western standards, but comfortable enough—just make sure to bring insect repellent. Also, bring cash if you'd like to enjoy a beer—a large Bintang costs around 75k IDR—and don’t expect shops or amenities; this is a truly remote experience.
Jahiding and his wife went above and beyond to make us feel at home. This isn't about five-star luxury or being herded around on crowded tour boats. It’s about embracing a different pace and way of life, and truly experiencing what it’s like to live here. We absolutely loved it.

Fairly expensive, not as developed, if you’re there for a boat tour, just get in and get out, not much to do there you can’t do in Bali or Lombok much cheaper. Can’t say enough about Sudamala Resort, reasonably priced if you book in advance and 5 star all the way.
