Georgio was great at communication all the way through our stay. He acted as our guide to see Komodo Dragons and the surrounding Islands, which was an amazing experience. Georgio was very knowledgeable on the Dragons and his family was very hospitable. If you want an authentic experience then this is for you.

When you arrive in Labuan Bajo, everyone will try to sell you a multi-day boat trip to Komodo - but there’s a better way to explore the national park: a homestay in Komodo village itself! Jacky is a awesome host, very friendly, speaks great English and he will organize everything for you. We were able to spend as much time with the dragons/turtles/on top of the mountains as we liked without being rushed. He‘s very transparent about the costs and the prices are rather low, considering that you’ll have a private tour and boat.
Added bonus: the view from the veranda and the home-cooked meals.
Featuring mountain views, Jhuna Komodo Homestay is located in Komodo, around 1.8 km from Pink Beach. This homestay offers free private parking and a minimarket.

Wonderful experience. Nothing to do with tourist excursions from Labuan Bajo.
Jhuna was perfect host, guide and sailor (also ask him about transfers to and from the island).
His wife is a wonderful cook (no need to go to a restaurant).
It certainly requires a certain spirit of adaptability. You have to be aware that it is not a hotel but a real village house, so: bathroom shared with another room and shower with basin.
However this allows you to really experience the island, see the dragons up close and discover incredible beaches without crowds.
Thank you Jhune, I wish you and your family all the best.
Komodo Resort is located on Sebayur Island bordering Komodo National Park, an hour’s boat ride from the Komodo Dragon Tour on Rinca Island.

I got to see the Komodo Dragons and that basically says it all for me. However, this is a new concept - to stay on Komodo Island, its a small village (nestled amongst the pier) and you stay with the Ranger and his family. We went out Dragon spotting almost immediately (the Dragons are not too difficult to find, a short walk from the homestay) at dusk and then again early morning. For me it was an experience of a lifetime to be so close to these incredible creatures, just me and the guide. The food was also AMAZING that is cooked by the family .... I had the best fish of my life (and i'm from NZ so I know good seafood....) and some seriously satisfying meals. It was a very short trip as the boat only leaves every other day so I had to go to continue my schedule. But wow. Dragons! I was a woman travelling alone and felt perfectly safe.

- Wonderfully attentive and most friendly staff
- Excellent included breakfast with amazing fresh juices and the best bread we had in Indonesia so far
- Great views, secluded resort, lovely bar on the sea, just marvelous
- perfect for honeymooners or to get away from the stressful and noisy city
- Great balineses massages, though they are a bit on the pricey side
- Diving day trips possible directly from the resort (pickup via boat, the staff will organize it all)

Fairly expensive, not as developed, if you’re there for a boat tour, just get in and get out, not much to do there you can’t do in Bali or Lombok much cheaper. Can’t say enough about Sudamala Resort, reasonably priced if you book in advance and 5 star all the way.
